Customer Reviews:

  • Great step up from iPod head phones, but nothing amazing
When you first plug this in, it doesn't sound all that great. It definitely needs the 24 hour burn in period. For less than 30 bucks though, these headphones are a great buy, and I highly recommend them. I live in a college dormitory, and they worked great for when I needed to study and isolate myself from the loudness of my floormates. I feel the bass and treble could have been expanded more, except that would probably lead to a higher price. I am very pleased though, and I have no regrets with my purchase. ...more info
  • Waste of time/Mony
These buds are stylish, comfortble to wear, stay in place for me well but somehow manage to have no bass and no treble, its all midrange. I thought these would be an upgrade to my _mok'n buds, but they were a disappointment....more info
  • thumbs down...
I was disappointed in these so-called "Isolating Earbuds" because they don't "isolate!"--and, I suppose,--that's why they were marked down. They are, if you want to listen while on a subway, inadequate to the task....more info
  • Great for casual use
I'm no audiophile; I know just enough audio terms to get into trouble! Aside from a nice pair of noise-canceling Sennheiser headphones, I've always used stock phones or cheap replacements bought at the store. But, I'm using my MP3 player much more lately and my stock earbuds pads had gone missing anyway. I didn't want to use my old pair of ear-covering headphones, so I decided to pick up a pair of nice ear buds.

I eventually decided, after comparing with others, to go with the J2 earbuds. Basically, everything the other reviewers have said is true. Be warned, the bass is very overwhelming, at least according to my amateur ears. After letting them break in by hooking them up to my computer for 24 hours, I can say there really is a world of difference. I had to fiddle with my equalizer a bit, but now they sound very full, and much better than my stock earbuds. They're not fully broken in yet, and it seems like they're holding back just a bit on the treble, but I'm confident it'll get better.

I bought the black/electric blue combination and while they look bulky in the package, once inside they fit comfortably, snugly, and fashionably within your ear. I also can play music at half the volume I did before without hearing outside noises (in this case, the sound of refrigeration compressors), so it should definitely save battery life on your players and block outside noises on medium-high volume.

In my opinion, these are a great deal for any casual/non-audiophile user. Amateur users will notice the bass, so let them break in for a while, but after that, you will find absolutely nothing wrong with these. I imagine audio enthusiasts will find some problems with these buds, but people like me should definitely give these buds a shot....more info
  • Cheap. Good. No problem
After getting totally overloaded with the sheer magnitude of earbuds AND the magnitude of reviews, I took the plunge with these. The sound is very good, they seem to be made well, and I like the color. No problem....more info
  • Blocks out all outside noise
These earphones clearly do the job intended. I'm currently listening to music on my laptop with the volume on 10%. With other headphones i've had in the past, i've needed the volume on 16% (Dell earphones), and anywhere from 18-22% with other brands. 10% is very impressive. I also like that these headphones come with a one year warranty (lifetime if you register them at the company website), extra earbuds (i've had problems with them falling off with other earphones, but these have held up so far), and about 10 color choices. I would say that i'll buy again, but i have a lifetime warranty! I will recommend though!...more info
  • Great service, good sound, however not so good for cycling
I bought a pair of JBuds a year ago and the wiring worked itself apart and they stopped working. Jlab promptly sent me not only a replacement pair, but also a pair of J2s for free!
Sound is great from both, no complaints.
Now, I don't want to knock anything that is free, but I found that the original design is better for cycling (yeah, I know, it's dangerous to ride and have music going, but I'm on bike paths and the volume isn't blasting.)
The shape of the J2s sticks out much farther and creates quite a loud whistling noise when you get some speed up. So if you are getting these for on the bike, go with the sleeker, older and cheaper design. ...more info
  • good but coudl've been better
These Jbuds J2 earphones is not as what I expected. To me the highs are gone and the bass could have been better. The durability for these are good but if you want better earphones for cheap or under $100, I recommend the skullcandy Ink'd or skullcandy full metal jacket 11mm. These earbuds needs a price drop because 30 dollars is not worth paying for these....more info
  • great product, great value
Got these majorly discounted and they work really well. Block out lots of noise and have great bass. Also love that they are red....more info
  • NOT NOISE REDUCING
The product name and description imply that these ear buds are silencing or noise-reduction ear buds. In reality, they are totally average silicone ear buds with no noise reduction technology WHATSOEVER. According to the packaging, the "tight fit" of the silicone buds reduces outside noise, just like every other silicone ear buds on the market. Total waste of time....more info
  • Jbuds
Pros: Sound quality is excellent and the earbuds really work well in isolating outside noise.

Cons: These things easily fall out of your ears! If you don't mind putting the earbuds in your ears every once in a while, this product is quite excellent for the price....more info
  • earbuds stopped working after a week
After a week of great sound, they suddenly stopped working. I figured out that the jack that goes into the ipod is not long enough therefore you have to push really hard to get it to pick up a signal. 5 stars if you fix this...more info

  • Great sound not quite full enough
I bought these along with a pair of Griffin EarThump Earphones (Black) a few months back, and it took a little while to determine the winner. After burning them in as is suggested, I have tested them out on a variety of different music genres and have concluded that they are good earbuds, but are not quite as good as the Griffin EarThumps. The one thing that is missing is the full bass sound... it just doesn't deliver an enveloping, wide range of sound with the bass. Everything else is great... wonderful detail, excellent treble, good volume, fairly comfortable, etc. I'm not disappointed at all... it's something I wouldn't have noticed if I couldn't switch back and forth between earbuds for a comparison. Nevertheless, the EarThumps sound a little better to me and are half the price.

I also recently received a new set of earbuds Woodees IESW100B Inner-ear Stereo Earphone with Microphone that may be a good option in between the JBuds and the EarThumps. They have better range than either, but cost more and have a little distortion when I really crank up the music....more info
  • JBuds Not Premium
As was contributed by a recent owner of these earplugs, I also found that they lacked any high end frequency response. I am presently happy with $10 Skull Candy ear plugs. In a direct comparison to the original Apple earbuds, the Skull Candy sounded better on the low end. I was looking to improve on my Skull Candy experience and thought that the original MSRP for these JBuds would be an indication of better sound but I was disappointed.

Amazon was very good about accepting my returns....more info

  • Not secure at all!
Don't know why they make ear buds that won't stay in your ears, but that's what happened with these. My main use for these things is when I'm running in the canyons and these things kept jarring loose from my ears. I even had the larger bud on them and it still wouldn't stick. Then once a little sweat got on them, forget it. And when they wriggle loose, the sound quality disappears, so what's the point? I literally had to hold one in my left ear so it wouldn't fall out. The results weren't much better for the elliptical trainer at the gym. They stayed in, but wriggled out to the point where I lost a lot of the sound. You're better off with the ones Sony makes for the ipod, and it's cheaper!...more info
  • Nice Little Earbuds
I'm not big into earbuds, but I also don't feel right walking around with big "earmuff" headphones listening to my MP3 player.

My usual complaint with earbuds are that they are uncomfortable. Generally I can leave these in my ear for about an hour before they start to get uncomfortable. I just pull them out for a few minutes and put them back in and it'll be another hour before I have to do it again. I may not be using the proper sized ear plugs though. The mediums were on by default but they wouldn't stay in my ears. I might try them again later.

As far as the sound goes it's pretty clear and loud enough for an earbud. The bass really sucks though. I guess I shouldn't expect much out of tiny little earbuds, but I can tell a huge difference between these and my big headphones. There's pretty much no bleed in or out of the sound though. When I have them on they're almost like earplugs even when no music is playing.

My one HUGE complaint is the length of these headphones. While plugged into my ears the cord hangs down to about the middle of my shin. Maybe they're doing this to please the 7 ft basketball player crowd, but a normal person doesn't need that much length. These are even longer than the factory iPod earbuds. You might not think it would matter, but I'll be damned if I can go anywhere without the slack getting caught on something and ripping the buds out of my ears.

If you like using earbuds and don't mind giving up some low-end sound then these will probably perform to your satisfaction and remain fairly comfortable....more info
  • excellent sound but...
... even with 3 pairs of different earbuds, I cannot find a way to get an almost full isolation... or better that the ones that I get with this ones:Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black)...more info
  • not that great
These earbuds are definitely comfortable, but sound quality is not superb. That and they died after a month and a half of use. I only used them while at work to listen to video conferences, which amounts to maybe a handful of times. Had I known they would be so bad, I would have just ordered some cheap ones. I'm sure those would have lasted at least 2 months....more info
  • Jbuds fit and sound good but
I bought these for my iphone, and find they fit and sound good but going from listening to music to answering the phone I have to pull the phone out of my pocket to answer it. Unlike the earbuds that came with the phone. If they can get a button on the cord to answer and stop the music these would be great. ...more info
  • Not what revewers said. Broke in 2 month
It's horrible. Music and noise isolation is just horrible. Even compare 1luv which i hate and got off the street conor is better then these ear phones. I am abosolutely dissapointed. I thought reviewer said it was good in sharp sound but there is nothing sharp about this head phones. No bass what so ever. Never buying Jbud again. ...more info
  • JBuds J2 Premium Hi-FI are Noise Isolating Earbuds...and stay put
The JBuds J2 Premium Hi-FI Noise Isolating Earbuds live up to their name. I use them mainly in a gym, and you have to take them out if you want to hear the people talking to you. Probably a good idea since not being able to hear yourself makes you talk louder than you intended. I've also used them on a plane flight, and they help block out the engine drone. I normally have a problem keeping buds in my ears. I tried the large and medium inserts that came with the set, and they both stayed put, even all sweaty on the treadmill. Sound quality is decent, plenty good enough for what I use them for. ...more info
  • Works great, but not for running.
The ear bud works very nicely, but only if you are not moving too much. For running, ear phone with the foam pad is better....more info
  • Decent.
Honestly not a bad pair of headphones at all but in comparison to my previous set, they failed to impress me. After the initial burn-in process, they definitely sounded much better but still not on par with my old headphones (which were much cheaper)....more info
  • Good 4 me
OK, these ain't no BOSE or other Higher end headphones, but for what I paid for, these things are GREAT!! My wife uses one at the gym and I use one every so often at work. The noise isolation is good, so however they designed to headphones to do it, it's working for their product. Would I recommend this to other folks, yea I would, but always remember you GET what you PAY FOR!!!!!! oh yea I got these back in Dec. when they were B1G1...more info
  • great sounds but some interior noise is perceived
I love the Jbuds. Thats why I ordered the new ones. Product look great in the packaging, reinforced edges provide safe plug-unplug actions. I have not "burn" them for the 24 hours period the manufacture recommends yet. The few hours I have been using them I feel this product is great. I would have to wait until I complete the 24 hours burning period because I feel some internal distorsion(noise) from time to time. I am not 100% sure it comes form the Jbud, becuase I like to listen to internet radio, and signals are not always as clear as I would expect. So, I will be testing the product longer time to come up with a more comprehensive review....more info
  • These earbuds are the best
I bought several earbuds before I trusted the reviews on Amazon and I couldn't have made a better choice. Everything in the description is true. ...more info

  • Very nice!!
This is a well made product, I travel alot and they do keep the airplane engine noice to a tolerable level, i have a set of Sure Behind the ear and a Bose over the ears, nothing compares to the Bose but they are bulky so this is the best alternative so far and they are very comfortable....more info
  • Decent, but probably won't be purchasing again
After two or so weeks of use and burning these babies in for 24 hours upon receiving them, I will reiterate from a previous review that these are better than the stock Apple buds, but I'm not overly impressed either.

Even after burning in and daily usage since I got them, the sound is still muted. This is particularly annoying during the highs because it sounds like I'm listening to my music through a blanket.

Compared to my previous Creative EP-630s, these weren't too impressive. Compared to to the Apple stock buds, these are a pretty good upgrade. For only ~$10 more though, I would go for the Creatives.

Design-wise, these look very cool and quite comfortable in the ears. Of course this depends on whose ears they go in, but JBuds offers you 3 sizes to switch between and the smallest size works best for me. I'm sure a lot of people will also appreciate the assortment of colors this product comes in as well....more info
  • JBuds J2
Good value. Fair noise isolation. Fair to good quality of sound. The interchangeable ear buds allow one to fit to various sized ears. I have not had a problem with the them falling out when working out. I would buy again....more info
