Customer Reviews: - Super Slow
I just received the 32 GB Flash drive and it runs at the speed of a 1.0 USB drive not a 2.0. Would not recommend this device to anyone....more info - Great Flash Drive
I have had this flash drive for the last month and have bin very happy with it. I can put 10 videos on it and still have room to spare. ...more info - Works like a charm
Works as expected. Gigantic storage capacity. Sturdy rubberized "wetsuit" cover & cap allows you to toss it around without worry. Very satisfied with purchase....more info - Good space but very slow
I like the space and durability of the product but a little disappointed in the performance. It takes a long time to transfer files especially small ones....more info - Word of caution
I gave one star mainly because the USB drive failed to function in less than a year after purchase. Also be aware that if you submit a case online (corsair website), they will replace it, not repair it unless you directly speak with a representative.
...more info - good size, ok speed
I love the 64GB and if this was my first flash drive it would be perfect but having owned a 16GB flash voyager i find its speed to be a bit slow. If i could do it again i would get the Patriot Xporter Magnum 64GB. ...more info - Corsair 64 GB Flash Drive
I had to return the product as it would not format. When communicating with the seller, I was advised that once received, they would replace the product and reimburse me for the return postage. Instead of doing that, they issued a full refund for the original purchase price and shipping charges but not the $4.95 I paid to return it. When I questioned them on this, they advised that I could pay them $80 through PayPal and they would ship me another flash drive. I have difficulty in doing business with people that do not honor their commitments even though I was reimbursed minus the additional charges I had to pay. That seems to be unprofessional and quite frankly, I do not trust them to follow through since their word is obviously not good....more info - satisfied
With a 64GB capacity in early 2009, I knew I was getting an MLC flash device, and my performance expectations were conceived accordingly. Sure, you can get much faster SLC flash drives, at a fraction the capacity and with much lower space/$. I wrote about 45GB to mine, at an average rate of something like 10MB/s on a MacBook Pro, which was entirely reasonable. I suspect that many of those who complain of the write speed are comparing apples to oranges, or in this case, a large MLC device to a small SLC device. I also suspect that some have the mental idea that a flash drive should take N seconds/minutes to fill, without regard to the capacity difference. Perhaps there are applications for USB flash drives that require massive speed, but I'm currently not aware of any. Heck, if one needs any real speed by today's standards, the bottleneck of the USB interface alone disqualifies any such unit and a (smaller, SLC) class 6 SDHC/CF card with a FireWire reader is a much better option....more info - Would return it if I could. Frustratingly slow
So much so that I decided to get on here to vent. I should have listened to the other reviewers who didn't give it 5 stars......but alas I'm a little slow as well....more info - Went through the washer!!!!!!!!!!
I've owned my Flash voyager for quite a while now and definitely have put it through the paces. The latest is that I actually left it in a pair of pants and then washed the pants! They also went in the dryer but without heat. I just plugged it in and not only does it work, but everything is there. Fantastic durability. Always works - easy plug and play - what else do you need?...more info - Corsair 32GB Flash Voyager
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this flash drive. It has PLENTY of room on it for my needs. I back-up all my data from QuickBooks, my calendar, client photos (tons of those), word documents (a gazillion of those), and whatever other data I have, on a daily basis with this little thing!
I also back up to disk. But there is no point in backing up to a disk in the office if the office burns down or a hurricane knocks the building over, or whatever. This little disk has it all and it goes with me wherever I go.
An added benefit is that I have access to the data wherever I am and was happy to have it with me at a time I didn't even figure on needing it!
...more info - Stopped working after 3 months use
Initially I thought this was a great drive. It held a lot of data and I was never quite able to fill it up. After all, it's got almost 16 Gb of data capacity - much more than I really needed on a portable drive.
The speed of the drive was acceptable. I never had any complaints.
My only issue with this drive is that one day when I really needed some data off of it I plugged it in and it didn't work. It had been working just a few hours before, but when I really needed it I got a message that I needed to format the drive. Suddenly Windows XP didn't recognize it and I had no access to my data. I later tried the drive on several other computers with different operating systems and got the same results. I suppose it's possible that the drive was demagnitized, but I don't know how it would have happened since the drive was just in my pocket the whole time. In any case, the drive went from a great asset to a non-asset nearly instantly. Instead of reformatting I was forced to order a replacement flash drive from another manufacturer due to lack of trust with this one.
Incidentally, the caps slide off of these drives really easily. They are just held on by friction (rubber against metal). If you put the drive in your pocket or attach it to your keychain the cap will eventually slide off in your pocket or wherever you happen to be. It's almost a guaranteed eventual loss for whoever owns them.
After initially losing mine I went to the manufacturer's website and found a button and an associated form to request replacement caps. I filled out the form about 4 or 5 weeks ago and still haven't received any replacement caps.
Two weeks ago I ordered another drive with a similar friction cap design and in anticipation of losing the cap I emailed their customer service department requesting a couple of extras. I already received 2 replacement caps from them free of charge. I think that shows a big difference in the support offered by this manufacturer and other flash drive manufacturers.
As far as the ruggedness of this drive's design goes, I'd say it appears to be reasonably rugged. It is encased in a seemingly thick outer rubber layer. I never had any problems with physical damage to the drive. ...more info - Acceptable Drive
This drive performs well and it has a lot of capacity. I hear it is also water resistant. It's a little thicker than I would like, which means it takes up a lot of space on a key chain. It also has a rubber exterior, which means that it sticks to the key chain instead of sliding around it like a key would. I also think having the key chain hole on the cap makes more sense as I don't like having my keys dangling from the USB port on my computer -this might interfere with its water resistant design though this is a rubber cap that doesn't snap-on quite like the Lexar drives do. It would be a good drive to throw in a backpack or in your pocket. If I was writing a dissertation, I would want something more key chain friendly....more info - Excellent for daily syncing
I use a 32GB Corsair to sync my data daily (using Allway Sync).
On the Corsair I have created three folders that correspond to three small drives on my internal drive.
This is intensive use, because the Corsair gets plugged-unplugged daily and its files are often changed or deleted, and new files are constantly added.
I love my 32GB so much that I'm about to get a 64GB.
...more info - flash drive performs as I would expect
I'm really happy with the flash drive. Can't say I had heard of the maker (Corsair) before but I figured a flash drive is a flash drive. So far so good. Using it to back up all my non-photo/music files each month. ...more info - Great product, never got rebate
This flash drive is excellent. Very durable, although if kept in pocket the rubber will collect any lint from your pocket. Excellent for storing or transferring large video files.
I purchased this through[...]in mid-March, and they (corsair) were also offering a rebate (I think it ended up costing [...]. The purchasing and shipping went smoothly and I promptly mailed in the rebate form and all the required stuff. It's now the beginning of June, and I still haven't received my rebate....more info - Stopped working after 30 days and its replacement within 5 months.
Overall I am very disappointed by this USB drive. The first one stopped working within the first 30 days of usage and its replacement - fast and without problems from amazon - stopped working 5 months later. After pluging the USB drive into the computer its light flashes for a few seconds up to several minutes and then after that time it suddenly stops and is not visible on the Computer. This happened on several PCs/Macs and on USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports while cheaper no-name brand flash drives work perfectly. I only can encourage people with a defect drive to use the 10 year limited warranty by corsair: http://www.corsairmemory.com/warranty/default.aspx or by phone: 1-888-222-4346...more info - News Flash
Nothing wrong with the product; it's works the way it is supposed to. The problem is the service: the ad said FREE OVERNIGHT DELIvry. So, I ordered; three days later I got a confirmation; ten days later I got the product. No explanation, nothing telling me why I didn't get the darned thing the next day, when I needed it. And now you want me to buy more stuff from Amazon. Really!...more info - Amazing storage for a flash drive
Got this two weeks ago for backing up files from one or two of the servers at work. The advantage of flash drives is that I can carry several of these around and they don't take up much space at all. I was a little bit worried about the speed but that is not a problem with the Corsair. This flash drive is a bit bigger than the Kingston 64gb but the speed is worth it. I'm not sure what the difference in technology is but this drive is about twice the speed when copying 50GB to it. In addition the Kingston 64gb required a formatting before I could use it. Not so with the Corsair. Worked right from the start. If you need a lot of storage in a flash drive, this is the drive for you....more info - Good product, but one problem
This is a solid flash drive- good capacity for the price, durable build, have been using it for a long time with no technical problems. It's a little fat because of the rubber, but still haven't had a problem sticking it into crowded USB ports.
One word of warning though:
Unless you reformat the drive to FAT mode (which according to the nerds out there will shorten it's lifespan and reliability considerably), you can only put files under 4 gigs a piece onto the drive. I bought it specifically to put large 6-7 gig video files on it, only to find out it won't take them.
That information was not in the product description, I had to learn it the hard way, and have the reason why explained by looking on Google. I don't really have any need to carry 8 gigs of small files around at any time (I can use my old 4 gig drive for small files), so it really doesn't suit the purpose I bought it for - which was to carry single, large files. ...more info - great service
great seller speed delivery, I don't even know when I received the item but it was fassssssssssssstttttttttttttttttttttt...more info - Easy to use and LOTS of room
The Corsair 16GB flash drive was easy to use... plug it into the USB port and it self installs the drivers to the PC. Shows up as another drive letter inside of My Computer - icon. It hold lots of data. I use it for work and it's a life saver. I highly recommend it to anyone....more info - Corsair 64 gb flash drive
 Here's my comprehensive review. Enjoy!
SIZE: The Corsair 64gb flash drive is quite large... it's as long as my WD passport external hard drive and as fat as my thumb. It is difficult to plug in another USB device whilst this guy is attached as it takes up considerable room. It does come with an extension cable which does alleviate this problem, but it's yet another thing you have to carry around. The point of owning a flash drive is portability isn't it? When there are a lot of peripherals to carry around, it defeats this purpose. The cap is also a problem because it becomes loose with time and it's easy to lose.
CASING: The drive is truly water resistant (as long as you still have your cap). It has a rubber shell that's pleasant to touch and it bounces when dropped. The more important aspect of this rubber texture is the fact that it grabs a hold of the inside of your pocket. Unlike some of the other reviews I've read, I actually like it .It's more difficult to accidently lose the drive when removing other objects from your pocket, like change.
DESIGN: It's fairly ugly and it looks like an adult toy due to its size. Sorry, Corsair, but it does!
FILE SYSTEM: It is formatted as FAT32. You cannot copy files larger than 4 gigabytes in size onto the drive because of this. I formatted mine to NTFS, which turned out to be a big mistake! DO NOT format it as NTFS!!! You will lose considerable read/write speeds if you do, even with a larger cluster size, say 16k. NTFS also burns out flash drives much quicker than FAT32 because NTFS writes to the drive even if files are only read. Also, once you change it to NTFS you'll have a hard time getting it back to FAT32 if you're on Windows: you'll need 3rd party software to do it, like Acronis Disk Director Suite.
SPEED: TESTED ON WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE. I feel very disappointed with the speed of the drive. Read speeds were alright, but the write speeds are unacceptable. With the FAT32 file system write speeds average 1-1.3 MBps. Ehh. With NTFS write speeds deteriorated to 300 KBps! Now that is slllooooowwww. Keep it as FAT32 like I recommended before.
CONCLUSION: The drive is too big physically to be a flash drive and too slow to be comparable to an external hard drive. If you want portable storage with this kind of capacity, get an external hard drive instead. The technology just isn't there right now to really be useful. I recommend a WD passport as a substitute....more info - Does the job...
It's a memory stick... The speed is very good compared with other USB Sticks that I have. And 16 GB gives you plenty of room. I use it to have MP3s in the car (BMW has a USB port option where you can plug in a USB stick) and it holds more songs than I would ever want to play while on the road. ...more info - Amazing Flash Drive
I read a lot of reviews before I bought this flash drive. I was looking for something that was fast, good storage and reliable. I red good things about it and although I haven't heard this brand before I decided to go for it.
It is an amazing product. I used it for school, work, and for fun. It is way faster than my 1GB and 2GB (other brands) I have. Easy to use and I don't have to be worried that it will go bad if I drop it because of its "cushiony" outside.
I do recommend this flash drive to everyone, great product....more info - corsair replaced lost cap quickly and for free!
i almost never lose things but nevertheless lost the cap to my cute little rubber-covered flash drive within a month of owning it! i finally decided i'd go to the corsair website to see about buying a replacement and found out they will provide up to 5 replacement caps for free! couldn't have been easier....more info - Slow! Maybe USB 1.1 slow.
I needed the size so I have kept it. I think there is a defect in it that makes it run at USB 1.1 speeds. I have no problem with the other keys that I have. I would suggest trying a different product....more info - Corsair 64GB
Excellent product, was immediately recognized by several computers and my car audio system. It has worked just great. I use it for MP3 files. The unit plugs into my car audio system and was compatible with that syatem as well....more info - Extremely slow performer
I have decided to buy this 32Gb jump drive to upgrade my older 8Gb Corsair Voyager GT which I love for its speed and reliability. Unfortunately, the new drive's writing speed is so painfully slow that it makes it hardly usable. Definitely not something I'd suggest to buy. ...more info - AVOID This Shoddy Headache AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Upon receiving this finely manufactured gem (**SARCASM ALERT**) produced by Corsair, the 32GB Flash Voyager model took nearly 1.5 hours before it would become recognizable and / or usable on 4 computers (and about 300 diff. USB ports) I tested on--running XP/Vista with SP1 and all updates, PLUS OS X 10.x!
Needless to say, even after following all instructions and troubleshooting, whilst taking into account user advice from various internet searches, the 32gb Flash Voyager continued it's disapproval in operating with computers made after 2008. I noticed sometimes, that wiggling the drive would cause it to connect, or disconnect, depending on its mood. Numerous times, in addition, the drive failed to display my data, resulting in complete loss.
Let's re-hash: after my initial 4 days of usage--drive failed and zapped all data 2 times. Had to re-format 9 or so times to compatibilize with Windows (OS X was a bit less finnicky, although 0% more trustworthy with any sort of data.) Out of those 4 days, roughly 1.5 were spent troubleshooting this piece of trash, and another 1 day added "scanning for errors" during every system bootup...because, hey...the Corsair 32GB drive wasn't gonna enumerate, much less operate, without scanning the disk for errors. Go ahead without the scan? Sure ya' can! But we're only letting you interact with 1 file, says Mr. Crash Poyager!
WOW-a great name Corsair should consider swapping in place of this drive moniker - CRASH BLOWYAGER!
Yes, there's a reason this is less expensive than similar hardware--because you always get whatcha' pay for...in this case, an anti-productivity, headache inducing stick of what's worth less than fecal matter. Indeed.
AVOID THIS CORSAIR 32GB FLASH (CRASH) VOYAGER DRIVE AT ALL COSTS! SPEND $10-$50 extra for proven quality, something I'm about to seek in replacement.
Or be a cheapo like I was, and get stuck with incompatibility on Vista, XP, OS X 10.6+, and virtually all other OS's in existence. Yes, you'll be scanning this drive for errors with each startup and shutdown, in addition to connecting between ports, no matter what computer--it will be hit or miss whether the piece wants to work after you scan the [...] out of it. And I can attest, it has endless amounts of [...] to siphon off to the user.
Don't become the sewer for Corsair's cheap technology/hardware components. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!
(**I did not buy from Amazon, though my window for a refund is probably up and I don't count on getting a replacement for my cash)
CORSAIR=FAIL THIS DRIVE=EXTREME FAIL!1!!!...more info - Good performer
Purchased to run programs off of, like a harddrive. The speed is indeed better than most USB sticks. If all you need is storage, there are many choices, but if you need storage & access speed (R & W) then the Corsair is a better choice....more info - Big and slow
Very big in capacity, but slow to transfer data, specially when dealing with many files (like back-ups) Tried to check my computer, but it was ot the case. Well protected, you can drop it and it bounce like a ball.
If you are not in a hury to copy huge amounts of data, a good deal....more info - ************************ Star

Excellent product with fast read/write speed. Only negative is the outer container of the plug is big, therefore, it does not fit along side other USB plugs. We are contantly switching out other USB devices to plug this one in....more info - Great USB
I purchased the 16 GB drive about 2 months ago wanting a USB with a larger capacity. I read some reviews about this item having issues with transfer speed.
