The 8.5-inch digital picture frame by SmartParts shows-off your pictures with the same crisp quality of high-quality prints. The full color display offers vibrant, bright colors that provide optimum contrast, allowing you to view your pictures in their natural state. Your memories will be displayed exactly as they were when your pictures were taken. Displaying pictures in the digital frame takes three easy steps: simply remove the memory card (not included) from your camera, insert the card into the frame, and view your photos. There is no need to upload and edit your pictures on a computer. Once the memory card is inserted into the frame, pictures are automatically displayed as a slideshow. The speed of the slideshow is automatic. Photos will remain on the screen for about 5 to 20 seconds, depending on the size of the files. Pressing the rotate button turns the photos to their correct position for proper viewing. The mode button allows you to adjust how your pictures will be displayed on the screen. Normal view: pictures fit on the display screen without any stretching or cropping. Crop View: pictures will be enlarged to fill the screen without stretching them.  I received this frame as a gift. It was very easy to set up. Initially I loved it. I called the person who gave it to me with sincere thanks. The picture quality was great, my pictures looked better than when they were actually printed. After one week the frame went blank. I thought it was unplugged but not so. The message on the screen read card error. I tried a number of troubleshooting options to no avail. I removed my memory card from the frame and put it back in my camera and received an error message through my camera. I then purchased a new memory card and took pictures with it in my camera. I put the new memory card in the frame and again received an error message. I put the same new card back into my camera and it read an error message. The card was fine before I put it in this frame. This frame is not a quality product. It looks nice and would be great if it didn't remove photos and ruin memory cards....more info - Instant Photo Show
 As a professional Photographer, I am always looking for ways to showcase our work to clients and potentials clients. We use the smartparts frames when we are on location to display our event photography. Clients love to see their photos so quickly and potential clients see photos and then order them quicker. This product works great in situations where we can't use projector screens to display our work. We also give these frames to our high end clients with their favorite photographs. The frames are displayed in lobbies and welcome areas in offices. Portrait clients love the ability to freeze a photo or have the images rotate.  This frame has already been amply reviewed, but I would like to add that the wifi feature is not worth the extra expense. I was eager to use its network connection to bring in photos automatically through RSS, since I already upload photos to sites that provide feeds like Flickr. However, to do this you have to use a Windows Live service called "FrameIt" to manage your photos online, and (1) it's a terrible service with a bad interface, and (2) every time I turned on the frame, I had to reconnect it to the feed, which involved many steps and failed often. In fact, I finally gave up when the frame would no longer connect to the feed. I don't know if this is a problem with the frame or with the Windows service, but Smart Parts "customer service" was no help at all, and in fact they ignored my emails with specific questions after responding to the first one with a generic "sorry you're having trouble" response.
I know the big feature they want you to use wifi for is email -- you can email photos directly to the frame -- but sending photos one at a time via email is ridiculous. And there's not that much memory in the frame to store the emailed photos anyway.
Also, Mac users can't sync this frame with your machine. That's lame too.
Anyway, I'm now using this rather expensive frame in its dumbest state, just to display photos stored on a USB memory stick in the back. In this capacity, the frame works fine. So if you like this frame, get the cheapest one they offer....more info - My aunt loved it! A surpreme gift
 My Aunt visited and said she would like a picture of our white Arabian horse Dusty. Instead I took several video pictures of Dusty, uploaded them to picture frame and gave her that. She loves it.  I own a Smartparts SP15MW and I LOVE it, so I bought another one. BEWARE!!!! This is NOT the SP15MW that smartpartsproducts.com has on its web. This is SP15MWA - appears to be a "dumbed down" version. It does not have a power button on the remote. The wooden frame had marks as if it were glued together from 2 pieces. It also had 3 "stuck" pixels. The back side of the frame is totally different from the "previous version." The overall quality seem much cheaper than the previous version....more info - Great frame for a great price!
 I bought this frame for my parents so they could have pictures of their first grandson. My parents do not use computers so I need to load the pictures when I visit. The frame is easy to use and the pictures are crisp. No complaints. I would recommend this to anyone.  I received this picture frame as a gift and it did not work right out of the box. The frame does not connect via the USB to my computer, which means that I am unable to upload pictures to the internal memory. I emailed the customer service department and I never heard anything back. I tried to call them and I get a recording that says that no one is available and that I should call back. ...more info - Support is almost non-existent
 When this product works, it works well. However, if you have a problem, support is almost non-existent.
Recently, I tried to load a card of additional pictures to my SPX8 frame. After a reasonable period, it stated "Optimization Complete" and entered the slide show. However, the pictures are not on the frame. All that is there are the the pictures I started with.
After multiple tries, I decided to use the frame controls to delete all the pictures and start over. I went through the steps to "Delete All" and was presented with a progress bar indicating the deletion was happening. When it completed, the frame entered the slideshow mode, using only the folders page as the image. When the frame was turned off and back on, the original 877 pictures all reappeared.
Finally, I connected the USB cable to my computer, viewed the General folder and deleted the 877 pictures there. When I went through the Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" steps and disconnected the USB cable, the original 877 pictures all reappeared.
I have called customer support and sent numerous messages. The only reply I received was a voicemail stating they were backlogged and would contact me in 48-72 hours. That was 13 days (9 business days) ago. ...more info - WOW ... I'm impressed!!!
 I ordered 2 of these to give to our parents whe I just got married 5/2/09. They loved them not only can you hook up to any pc there is a slot for every kind of common memory card out there. The picture is Fantastic, bright, and clear ... I don't remember the pixel count or aspect ratio but if you are like me I wanted to know hows the picture when I was reading reviews on these. 5 stars for picture quality. I do not do reviews ever but this is a great deal for a great product so I had to share my 2 cents! ...more info - Very disappointed
 I bought this frame as a Father's Day gift for my husband in June 2008. In March 2009, the frame stopped working. The display was grainy, and the frame wouldn't load photos. We plugged the frame into an AC adapter from another of our digital frames and realized the adapter was the problem. Unable to locate a 5V adapter in any of our local stores, we ordered an adapter from Smartparts. We received an email confirmation of our order, but we have yet to receive the adapter. I've tried to contact the technical support/only contact number listed on the company's website. Each time I've called, I've gotten a recording saying all technicians are busy and to leave a message. Apparently, the company never checks its voice mail, since I've yet to receive a return call. My husband loved this frame for the few months it worked, but I would not recommend this product to anyone.  I should have listened to the negative reviews on this product. Out of the box, all it does is blink, no images, doesn't read the card. Tried hooking it up to the computer and downloaded the extra software but no change.  This Wifi picture frame was reasonably easy to set up, the only difficulty being setting up RSS.
The frame started locking up at random times. Sometimes it would just display the same picture forever and sometimes it would jump into the menu system and then lock up. The only way to regain control was to remove the power and re-start the frame.
I called customer service and they provided me with the delightful insight, "Well, it's not supposed to do that!" They arranged for an RMA and it only took them one week after my call for them to send me the email with the link to the UPS shipping information.
Two weeks after they received it, I called them (waited 50 mins on the phone) to see what was going on. They said, "We're backed up from Christmas and there are some delays in sending out the replacements. I checked and your RMA number and it is going to be sent out in the next 2 days."
Two weeks later and the frame has not yet arrived. Furthermore, now, when you call customer service, all you get is a recording prompting you to leave a message! They're not even answering the CS lines any more! It has now been more than two full months since Christmas.
Stay away from Smartparts!!!

 Buyer Beware! My Smartparts display didn't work out of the box. I called their tech support and they were very rude. They had me ship it back for replacement. But I never received a replacement! Now they wont reply to emails or voicemail. They must be out of business or at least not interested in helping customers. It was a total rip-off. If yours works when you get it, good for you.  This works as promised. Very easy to quickly get up and running. Handles a variety of memory cards. No complaints or regrets. The only suggestion for improvement would be that it handle USB drives like it handles the other memory cards. It reads them, but doesn't automatically load and optimize them like it does for the other cards. Overall, though, this is a great product....more info - Don't waste your money!!
 I bought this picture frame in December--after buying a different frame for my parents, I really liked the idea so I wanted one for myself. When I got the frame initially, it worked great. It was attractive, easy to load, easy to operate, and I especially liked the timer setting. Less than 2 months later, I was vacuuming and accidentally unplugged the frame. When I plugged it back in, it wouldn't turn on. I tried connecting it to my PC and nothing changed. When I held the "on" button down, it would flash the "loading" screen and then shut down again.
Incredibly frustrated (and remembering I had read about that happening to other people in reviews I had read), I contacted SmartParts at the e-mail address they provided on their website. A week later I hadn't gotten a response, so I e-mailed them again. Another week later (this was my third attempt), I resent the e-mail to every e-mail address on the website: tech support, sales, returns--and STILL didn't get a response. Not knowing what else to do, I contacted Amazon's customer support. I received an e-mail less than 12 hours later advising me that, although the return window is 30 days, they would make an exception for me and mail me a new frame free of charge AND provide me with a paid label to return the defective item.
Although I don't even want the new frame, I'm extremely grateful for the customer service provided by Amazon. I can't believe that SmartParts was so absolutely disappointing in their customer service and I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the performance of the frame. I will NEVER, EVER buy anything from that manufacturer again.
I should have listened to the reviews, but I wanted a nice-looking frame for a reasonable price...unfortunately that's not what I got. I would advise anyone reading this to buy a comprable Panasonic instead....more info - Great if you need a doorstop

 Mar 2009 review: I bought one of these in Dec07 and it is an acceptable product, it display a good picture. While not perfect and a bit expensive, and warranty too short (90 days) it will display pictures that many will find pleasing. For a first generation of these it is fine. HOWEVER I had one feature that did not work. I called Tech Support, the agent was a bit testy and instructions on how to verify defect was a struggle due to bad & impatient communications by the rep. However it was finally agreed unit needed to be returned and I was told to fax in proof of purchase and then a RA & Shipping instructions would be mailed. That was Feb 10. I waited until Feb23 and had no communications back. I re-faxed and re-mail request after being unable to get a hold of a live person at Tech Supp & leaving vm msgs. Nothing has happened and again today 9 Mar tried again get a hold of live person at Tech Supp and main Company number, again no answer. It is totally impossible to communicate with any live person. Feels like the company went down or is under duress. I can't recommend this product if you want warranty or support. Wait until company revives, if it does. Dear Friends,
I am a long time loyal customer of Amazon.com and this is the first time I've had to ask you for help with an order. I received the Smartparts Picture frame in good condition and was very pleased with the service received from Amazon and Ritz Camera. However, as I am reading in other reviews of this product, it just stopped working after about 70 days of good service. When I contacted Ritz Camera, I was told that the time for returning this product had expired and that I would need to contact the manufacturer whose number they gave me. When I contacted the manufacturer they replied that it should be Ritz Camera's responsibility to replace the item and they would reimburse Ritz Camera. The company representative said she would check it out and get back to me in a couple of days. I have not heard from her in two weeks. When I tried to call back today, I received no answer. Is there anyway you can help me resolve this issue. It seems to me this would be a product to discontinue selling based on the number of negative reviews and similar stories from other Amazon customers. Thaks for your time in this matter.  I found it easy to load the pics, and the clarity of them are great. Loaded about 75 of the family for Grandma. She loves the slide show.

 Was easy to set up, looked good initially. However, it completely died after about 80 days. Can't even power it up, black screen. Dead as a doornail. I'd give it zero stars if I could.  I purchased the SmartParts SP8EM and it quit working after about six weeks. I contacted Amazon who would not do anything because it was sold through Capital Electorics on Amazon.com. I contacted Capital Electronics who would not do anything because their return policy is 15 days. I contacted SmartParts several times by email wiht no response and then I called their Tech Support and the number had been disconnected. I then call their Headquarters and spoke with a lady who promised to send me a replacement which never came. I called headquarters again and the phone number is not in service. The sad thing is Amazon and Capital Electronics are still selling this product with a worthless warranty and making money with no thought to their customers....more info - Awesome Photo Frame !!
 This digital photo frame is perfect for my father-in-law's 70th Birthday. I've put tons of memories and music on it. I'm still adding more and can't wait to give it to him next month. I know he will LOVE it! It is so easy to use. My 11 year old daughter is the one that put most of the pictures on it. The picture quality and sound is perfect!
