The Vtech CS5111-2 Two Handset Cordless Phone System with Caller ID operates on the enhanced 5.8 GHz frequency for clear reception that won't interfere with WiFi networks in your home. The CS5111-2 includes two handsets (with one base and one charging cradle), allowing you to use two handsets with one phone jack. Each handset features a large, lighted display that makes for easy viewing. The CS5111-2 is caller ID/call waiting compatible, which tells you the name, number, time and date of incoming calls, even when you're already on the phone. It stores the information of the last 45 callers.

The phone has a phonebook directory that stores 20 names and numbers which can be dialed with the touch of a button. There are also nine speed-dial presets and an indicator that alerts you of a waiting voicemail. Users can choose from a set of ringtones to personalize their phone. The handset fits comfortably in the hand and the phone includes a wall mount bracket for placement options.

• The phones are great
  We've had these phones for a couple months, and so far they have been great and very useful.
  We can take them into the basemnent, with the base on the first floor, and we get clear reception.

• SUPERIOR PHONE
  For the price I paid for this, I am surprisingly happy with it. The units are attractive and the quality of the sound is superior to other cordless phones in my house. The second handset is located two floors away from the base and the connection and sound are great. The handsets are small and I was afraid I wouldn't like using them, but I do. If you need a cordless with an extra handset don't hesitate to try this. A lot of people complain because if you answer a call on one handset, someone else can't take the call on the other handset. You can transfer the call between handsets, so not to worry about this. The base has a very small footprint that uses very little desk space as well. Altogether a very good purchase for me and I highly recommend it....more info

• Not what I expected
  The phone looks great, fair price, it was easy to install but the reception is very poor. If you're not standing less than 20 feet from the base, you can't practically hear anything. Bad choice....more info
• Beware of Vtech's return policy
  The Model 5111-2's caller ID system failed to function at all. After exhausting all troubleshooting tips on Vtech's web site, I talked to a technical support person, who had me repeat the troubleshooting steps. No luck. At that point, she told me the unit was defective and to return it under warranty AT MY OWN EXPENSE for replacement within 14 days. Sure enough, the ultra-fine print at the back of the user's manual tells buyers that they "are responsible for delivery and handling charges incurred in the transport of the Product(s) to the service location." To top it off, Vtech then cautions buyers that if the replacement unit get crushed or lost while getting shipped back to you, Vtech isn't responsible. Nice. I know I should have known better, but it still stinks that Vtech doesn't put the same effort into customer service that other companies do. Fortunately, Amazon.com DOES care about its customers, so I'm able to return the unit prepaid to Amazon and get a replacement -- probably something other than Vtech. Thanks, Amazon!...more info

  It was inexpensive and looks good but the battery doesn't have a long charge. I have had these kind of phones before and never had a problem with the time limit. The worse thing is it doesn't tell you just quits. ...more info

  Don't like this product but I decided to keep it as I'm not sure what you expect for the price (cheap). I suppose the saying "you get what you pay for" fits here. I will make a better decision next time....more info
• Solves my purpose
  This is my 2nd V-Tech phone. I wanted a decent cordless just to make and receive calls. I didn't want any additional features. So I brought this phone despite some bad reviews. I have used it for a month. It works great and solves my purpose. I am satisfied with the price i paid for it....more info
• Good for inexpensive option
  Good option for adding phones to a couple rooms. I love that only one has to be plugged into a jack/outlet while the other only needs to be plugged into an outlet. Made it possible for me to add a phone to the upstairs and downstairs without wiring in another phone jack.
  No problems with signal or sound unless it was right next to the baby monitor. I moved it a few feet over and the monitor didn't receive interferance from the phone anymore.
  Very happy with purchase. These do not have the 2.5 jack to plug in a headset in case you want to use one. That was disappointing. I guess I thought most newer cordless phones would have this option but found out this wasn't the case when I looked in stores too. So not the phones fault. ...more info

• Great buy!
  This phone beats the heck out of some of the very pricey brands. I previously spent $100 on a set of GE 6.0 phones, and they were constantly not functioning - but these work well all the time. Great price for a good phone. The only downside is the handsets are not very self-explanatory, so you have to consult with the instruction manual often to know how to do things....more info

• Good phones for the price
  I think these phones work great for the price and are comparable to more expensive sets I have used or owned. The frequency won't interfere with your wireless internet, and the range is really good. I have had a few times where the sound quality wasn't the best, but improved after switching channels. I have plaster walls, supported by metal mesh lathe, so I get some interference no matter which cordless phones I use when I'm separated from the transmitter base by several walls and sixty or seventy-five feet (like from my neighbor's yard). Good controls, good volume and good features for a great price....more info
• Getting strange noises during calls
  Getting what appears to be unscheduled speed dialing tones during calls .Tried everything I could think of to correct the problem(I was trained as an Engineer),and finally gave up and bought a new DEC Panasonic which appears to be working fine after about a week....more info

  I have this phone set about two weeks, I found it very easy to program, the instruction manuel was clear and easy to follow, the hand sets are light and comfortable, also the display is quite easy to read. Most of all it has a high volumn for hearing, I am slightly hard of hearing, I had problems with other phones, but not this one. I do miss the speaker, but that is minor. I would certainly recommend this phone set to anyone....more info

• Good Phone for the Price
  Purchased this phone as an extra set for my family room and one upstairs bedroom which had older phones that were not working any longer.
  Phone works well, caller ID is good. Wish it had a speaker phone and hold button function, other than that its a great bargain for the money!

• Great Sound Quality
  Great sound quality and good range. I've got the base station in the living room on the first floor and the extra handset up in the bedroom. Both sound great. Very handy for the bedroom since there is no phone jack up there. I easily programmed a bunch of speed dials - quite intuitive. Handset is not much larger than a cell phone.
  The only shortcoming I can see is the lack of a hands-free jack. I don't need this feature, but I know a lot of multitasking people do....more info
