About Graco In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on. What's in the Box Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center with carrier, and AC adaptor.
The world's first Newborn Soothing Center, Graco's Sweetpeace uses patented motion with four seating positions to create the perfect resting place for baby. Distinct sensations recreate a mother's movements and address the multi-sensory needs of infants. Developed with significant scientific research, the Sweetpeace calms baby via four of the senses: sight, sound, scent, and touch. Sight: Because newborns need visual simplicity, the Sweetpeace is made with neutral colors for a calming effect, has an adjustable canopy to control incoming light, and hosts a mirror that helps baby settle by focusing on their reflection. Sound: Comforting, low-frequency sounds recreate the in utero experience, while high-quality music offers sleepy songs for quiet times or upbeat songs for alert times. There is also a nature sounds (wind, rain, ocean waves) option, or an MP3 plug-in connection and holder allows you to create baby's customized playlist. Scent: A parent's scent is most recognizable and soothing to baby. The Sweetpeace includes removable soft components (a swaddling blanket and head support) that can be infused with nature's "aromatherapy" and calm baby with the familiar smells. Touch: A 2-speed vibration calms and relaxes with a subtle "massage" while the 5-point harness offers gentle ventral pressure that simulates "hugging." The Soothing Center also moves like mothers do. It has four unique seating positions that imitate how you hold baby, four cradling motions, three recline positions, and six speeds that can be adjusted to baby's mood.
No tools are necessary to assemble the Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center. |
Babies (and parents) are calmed by the Sweetpeace's multi-sensory technology. | As if all of this wasn't enough to make you wish you had one of these when you were a baby, Graco threw in some other thoughtful features. The removable seat doubles as an infant carrier or a floor rocker. On the flip side, the Soothing Center's frame is car seat-compatible and accepts all Graco infant car seats. No tools are required to assemble the Sweetpeace. The device can be operated using the included AC adaptor or it can function on five D batteries (not included) should you be someplace without an available socket. Designed for babies up to 25 pounds.

Customer Reviews: - Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center
This swing is wonderful and worth every penny I paid for it. It has everything you can imagine on there including the sound of a heartbeat for your newborn. What a wonderful invention!...more info - Couldn't do without this swing!
Ouch, it hurt spending so much money on a swing.. not knowing if my baby would actually like it. At first, he didn't. I thought for sure that this was going to be filed under "waiting for ebay". Then I started using the swing with our Graco carseat, and my life as a stay at home mom changed dramatically.
For some reason, though its adorable and cushy, my baby doesn't like the seat provided with the swing. We now use the seat elsewhere in the house, but he still doesn't like to sit in it for long.
Before I started using the carseat in the swing, the baby only slept on my chest for naps. He wouldn't sleep anywhere else. Then once I started sticking the carseat on the swing base, low and behold, he sleeps! It makes sense.. he is used to his carseat carrier... this just keeps him in motion in a seat that he already loves. I take him from the car, or stroller, and put him right in the base, and it keeps him napping nicely.
This swing comes with a lot of bells and whistles that I don't use, however, the electric adapter is something I couldn't do without.
Should you buy this particular swing? If you can find a swing that is electric, and fits your carseat carrier, and is cheaper, I would say go for that. The electric cord, and carseat adaptability is worth the price. ...more info - best baby item we have bought
This is positively the best baby item we have bought. Our son is 2-1/2 months old and spends a lot of time in this swing. He takes all his naps in it and will just sit and rock in it throughout the day. i would highly recommend this to anyone. ...more info - Our best baby purchase
Our daughter is almost 3 months old and we absolutely love this swing for nap time. The white noise is awesome and we actually contacted Graco to find out if we could get the same white noise mp3's to play elsewhere throughout the house and for outings to help our baby sleep. Customer Service gave me this website where you can download free mp3's: http://www.mysweetpeace.com/#/productowners/downloads .
For play time, we like to sit our baby in the swing and turn on the swing's lively playtime music. Then she can situp and face us as we play with toys and such. The incline on the seat is great for preventing spitups while playing.
We had a hard time with the swaddler and just use the Kiddopotamus ones instead because they have the cutout for the buckle. I love that when we come back from a car trip we can attach our Graco Snugride car seat to the swing to keep our baby sound asleep. The neutral color scheme is great because it matches so well in my living room as opposed to the bright pink, green, or other crazily-colored swings.
My only complaint is that I cannot find those darn Mix 'N Match toys for the toy bar anywhere! Graco lists them as replacement parts but they're ALL unavailable to purchase through their website! That is the only negative comment I have about the swing, though. It has really been a lifesaver....more info - Beautiful, but didn't work for our baby
This is a beautiful piece of equipment. Of all the items I received at my baby shower, this was the one I was most excited about. It's very well designed and I love all the features - especially how cuddly the seat is and the fact that we could also hook in our car seat. The only problem for us was that our son really didn't like it at all. He would occasionally sit in it for 5 minutes or so, but most of the time he would start wailing the minute I got him anywhere near it. At his daycare, they have a Fisher Price Papasan swing and he LOVES it. We ended up buying one of those and sadly, the Sweet Peace is sitting in our basement in hopes that any future babies may enjoy it. The Sweet Peace is really nice, but if you can, try it out before you invest $$ since it doesn't work for every baby. ...more info - a great swing - must have
I did a lot of research before selecting a swing for my third baby. This one is awesome, I'm really happy with it. It's not the usual swing that swings from front to back. This one goes from side to side in three different ways. Also has a nice vibration setting in the seat itself. The best part is that I can take the seat off the swing like a baby carrier and move it where I need it, even with the baby in it. It's also very soft and comfortable. The music and sounds are very nice and I can also attach the iPod to play anything. The seat covers are removable and machine washable, I just wish that they were organic materials....more info - Motor problems... but would be great if they could get it right
we got the swing recently and out it together right away. after getting it together we starting trying out the buttons for the sounds. we noticed a couple of the buttons would only go through 2 of the sounds then, when pressed again, they would shut the whole swing off. I called Graco and they said they would send me a new base/motor for free and dont worry about sending the original back. well, last week we got the new motor and put it together with the rest of the swing. I tested all the sound buttons first and they worked just fine. Then I turned on the swinging function and the noise the motor made was AWFUL. It was nothing like the first motor that we were replacing. That one was very quiet when swinging back and forth and made nice smooth movements. The new base, even though the musis/sound buttons worked, made a horrible grinding noise and very jerky back and forth movements. I called Graco again and offered to send this one back to them, mostly so they would understand that I'm not sitting here trying to get unlimited free parts. They said no, dont send it back, and they would send another new motor. The CSR I spoke with sounded a little like she might not believe me, but she is having another motor sent anyway. So here I sit waiting to see of the 3rd motor will have working music/sound buttons AND make a normal swinging motion that doesn't include the most AWFUL grinding sound ever. I don't know what we'll do if the 3rd doesn't work correctly, but I hope I don't have to find out.
If you have a swing that does sound WAY too loud when in motion, it might be that you have one that doesn't work the way it should. Don't accept that. Since the 1st motor was very quiet and smooth, I know that's what I should expect from another one. The problem is, when you pay this much for a swing EVERY function from it better work PERFECTLY....more info - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SWEET HAVEN
This is a wonderful product, but my daughter never recieved it from Sweet Haven. Sweet Haven takes your money and then does NOTHING. I think Sweet Haven should be prosceuted. I hope to recover my money through Amazons A-Z guarentee. Good luck to all the other people that were taken by Sweet Haven....more info - Good, but overpriced and needs improvements
3 months in now and I have some observations. The reviews here are reasonably accurate. It is a bit overpriced. But it is well made.
Yes, the motor makes some noise. But it's a rhythmic noise and doesn't bother us or, more importantly, the baby. It's a 'get used to it' sort of thing. The mechanism seems smartly designed as it allows the seat to get stopped while the motor is still running. That is, you want to move the baby around but forgot to turn it off. It doesn't get bound up or break when you stop it swing.
So far I can't imagine using any of the faster speeds. Geez, it's practically be an amusement park ride at anything faster than the 2 speed. Unless you're training a tiny astronaut (or WANT the kid to upchuck) I can't see using the faster settings.
The lap bar is boring, there's "not enough" for the kid to do with it to bother with it. The bar does work and contrary to another reviewer, I have found it stays up when only one side is released. It's easy to remove it entirely.
The hood is a nice feature, we use it. But the single dangling toy is lame. For this much money it ought to be better.
The swaddle blanket thingy is likewise lame, skip it entirely. So are the seat belt straps. I'm sure some lawyer said they have to be there but they're useless and end up being uncomfortable underneath the baby.
It would be nice for a newborn if it could recline a bit further. We had to rig up a towel or two to get our baby positioned properly. Otherwise he tended to curl over. The padded head rest wasn't effective since the seat position was too upright (and this was on the lowest position).
The music selections are not soothing. Not at all. Our boy HATES all of them. Turn on any of them and he immediately reacts with displeasure. The only sound he'll put up with out of it is the Womb Sounds option. He likes other music from other devices (and a zune mp3 player we use with it). He just does not like the ones built-into the sweet peace.
The seat vibrate option is nice and our baby likes it. But the position of the switch for it could be better. It's right on the front edge of the seat. The position makes it too easy to accidentally turn it on when you walk by it. As in, you've got your hands full dealing with the baby, and you're trying to leave and accidentally hit the switch. You come home hours later only to find the seat has been running the whole time and now needs YET ANOTHER battery. It would help if they moved this switch to the side a bit.
My biggest complaint is the power connector. It's a cheap barrel connector placed TOO LOW to the floor. Low enough that when you try to move the unit the power connector gets broken. The socket snaps off and disappears inside the unit. Fortunately I'm handy and could crack it open (THAT was a pain in the butt). I chose to connect the power cord permanently inside the unit. Now at least the power connector won't snap off again. The current design stinks and needs improvement.
What do we like? Well, the seat is removable. This is a big plus. The seat itself has a curved base so it can double as a seat on the floor. We take the seat out, put it on the floor next to us in the morning and can rock it gently with our feet. Likewise we can put our Britax infant car carrier in the base. This is nice for when we've driven somewhere and want to let him sleep just a little longer.
So, would we buy it again knowing all this? Probably yes. I'd feel better if it was around the $100 mark and they improved the power connector and vibrate switch. But all in all it's been a decent purchase....more info - Mother of 4 loves this swing
With four children, this is our third baby swing. It was a gift: I would not have spent this much for myself, but I've gotta say, if you want to give a gift that is going to endear you tenderly to the recipient, this is it! I think they should make it for adults (and I'm not kidding!)
I love everything about it, but my favorites features are:
1. It plugs into the iPod! We play our favorite playlists while cooking dinner and the whole family enjoys the music. (be sure to disconnect the ipod when you're done, though, or it will drain the ipod battery.)
2. It is sturdy enough for my three year-old, and the toy bar is completely removable so she fits. It will soothe her during a tantrum: she kicks back, swinging and listening to her "tunes." She uses it as much as the baby.
3. It plugs into the wall so you don't have to worry about accidentally leaving the vibrating seat on and wearing out the batteries.
I love this swing! I seriously think they should have it in adult sizes for nursing homes, special needs adults, etc....more info - Best swing ever!
I know it is expensive, but TRUST ME... this is WELL worth the extra dollars. The features are amazing! Your carseat can pop right into the base from the car, without waking up baby! It doesn't just swing back and forth, it stops, rocks, swings, all of it. It is VERY cozy... so cozy that my little one has slept in his next to my bed for over a month! Please read the features... well worth it! ...more info - It's a Fancy SWING
The words "Soothing Center" may seduce a buyer into thinking that a fussy baby can simply be placed in the swing and walla--the fussiness stops. That is not the case. This Graco swing has some great features, but it is simply a swing. It cannot and should not ever be purchased to replace the sights, sounds or feels of a parent or loving caregiver.
We hoped that this swing would sooth the savage beast, but it did not.
PROS
It assembled easily. It uses an AC adapter
It was engineered smart with the control unit on the side and the swing arm side to side.
The colors are not obnoxious and usually work into your home setting.
Lots of touch pad options
Soft material
CONS
It failed to sooth the baby. There was nothing to look at and our son got bored quickly with the one little bear hanging from the hood.
The swing ran loud. Louder than the Rainforest swing we have.
The music is NOT soothing. Flight of the Bumblebee at warp speeds and loud volume is not soothing. It's annoying. So is an overly loud thunderstorm.
The music is loud. I wish there was a way to turn down the Bose-like speaker system.
The swing arm that secures the baby in the front between his legs can be opened from both sides--which is nice...BUT the darn arm fails to stay up long enough for you to get the baby in. It should have better balance to stay up.
There are enough safety belts on that seat to use it in your car. If you actually take the time to use them all, your kid isn't going anywhere. You could darn near use it as a carseat! (DON'T of course!!)
The MP3 player attachment is interesting. Since the speakers are so loud I suppose it could double as a radio. Otherwise, Enter Sandman might work as soothing!
The swaddle blanket is a joke. I could not fit my son in it!
Overall, if you want a really fancy swing with dings and whistles, this is it. However, this is not a miracle in the making. It is a swing. Your child will likely get tired of it and still want mom and dad. It's not a replacement for personal soothing. It won't cure colick. It is a swing and it has issues. I would recommend waiting until these swings get the bugs worked out before buying one. Graco still has some improvements to make on their Creme de la Creme of swings....more info - Wonderfully soothes baby to sleep
We love it-have it for both grandkids-the music and motion is so nice for baby...more info - Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center
This is a wonderful product. My Grandson loves it as much as I do. I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren so I have owned many swings. I have not seen any that would begin to compare with the Graco Sweetpeace. ...more info - Best swing ever! Highly Recommend!!!!
This is the most innovative, creative, comfortable, easy to use swing ever. we love it! everyone that has put their baby in our swing is getting one. Everything about it is perfect. I love the ipod adapter as well, Graco thought of everything and put it all in this wonderful soothing center. It is great to be able to listen to any music we want- not limited to the music & sounds the swing has like all other swings.
It is extremely easy to use.. change positions, recline or sit up. they even thought about the child lock.. my toddler can't change the settings if I lock the settings in place. We love the ac adaptor too. I cant believe they even have a little place to hold the passy! dare I mention none of my other swings came with a seat belt friendly swaddle blanket of course they had to even think of this.
I've washed the seat cover plenty of times and it still looks like new. I hope they come up with different color covers as well.. I would buy a hand full. I just can't believe how great this product is!!!! oh and i also need to mention the strength of the motor- it does not decrease with weight.. it swings my 22 pounder as well as it swings my newborn. WE LOVE IT!...more info - Space chair from the future
Alright, I'm sold on this thing. I saw it in the store before our baby was born, and I'll be honest, my initial attraction was that there was an iPod/MP3 player attachment. That might seem trivial, but I'm big into technology, and additionally, that level of attention to detail really speaks about the thought put into a product.
Anyway, fast-forward to after baby was born. We were ready to commit to a swing. My wife had read some negative reviews on the retailer's website (mostly about the mechanical "whirring" noise from the swing motor), but I have learned over the years to trust my first instinct, and we went with this swing.
Good idea! This swing is awesome! I call it "the space chair from the future" because there's just so many cool features on it. The fact that you can adjust the incline of the chair, the directional position of the chair, and just about every other positioning element is, frankly, perfect. The swinging motion the chair produces is just as capable, creating a sort of random type of motion so that the baby doesn't get bored and distracted. The speeds range from light motion to carnival ride, which might be good for when he is older, but I think we'll keep it in the lower 50% range for now.
The sound options on the swing are fantastic. The noises are the least mechanical-sounding ones I've heard on any baby-oriented device. They're actually very soothing, and I can see them actually being nice for me to sleep with as well! The music selection is about what you'd expect from a simple baby-device, but that is irrelevant unlike other devices, because this swing comes with an MP3-player attachment. I just loaded my older, spare iPod up with classical music, and I'll play that, which will be perfect.
As a few others have noted, just about the only things to complain about are the weight of the swing, and the gimmicky toys. The toys are dumb, but who cares, it's a swing, not a toy. And the weight is sort of a double-edged sword; yes, it's heavy so it's not exactly mobile, but it's also heavy, and WILL NOT tip over, unlike some of the other swings I looked at. It is very squat in design, which makes me feel very comfortable with my baby in it.
In summary, this swing is awesome. I will definitely give it five stars, and a glowing recommendation to anyone who asks about it. Graco makes another hit!...more info - God Bless Graco!
We have a three-week-old baby daughter who got a cold from Daddy a few days ago. (Daddy feels like a war criminal.) Anyway, when she is congested, the only way she will sleep is in the Sweetpeace. Yes, it is a little creepy putting a newborn into this robot with a mechanical arm and ersatz heartbeat, but she likes it. Graco has saved our sleep, our sanity, and quite possibly our marriage. Buy this product. ...more info - make sure you buy it from a store/dealer
If you are considering this purchase, make sure you buy it from a physical store or online dealer that will accept returns. I say this because the first unit I bought was defective in that the arm was able to swing, but NOT with the cradle on the arm (and certainly not with my son in it), so it was essentially useless. Luckily, I purchased it from a store and exchanged it for another unit, which has functioned perfectly.
What I like:
*assembly is easy, and takes only about 20 minutes
*rocking motion is very smooth, and my son loves it -- even if he's not necessarily sleepy, he will sit in it for extended periods of time and be perfectly content, which is otherwise unlikely to happen even if one were to hold him in one's arms
*ambient white noise tracks are nice, especially the river/running-water one, which puts my guy to sleep really well -- the other ambient tracks are in-utero heartbeats, rainy storm, and trickling stream
*the unit plugs in to the wall, and is able to run indefinitely or you can set the unit to turn off after 30 minutes
*doesn't take up much space, occupying about 3 ft x 3 ft
*padding is very soft, and the head-rest is nice to prevent your baby from rolling off to the side
*cradle is detachable and is able to rotate into different positions without moving the base
What I don't like:
*motor is annoying if white noise or music is not playing -- it kind of sounds like a man-goat groaning
*music is kind of lame and tinny
*speaker pops when you turn it off and it startles my son, so I cover it with my hand to dampen the noise
*expensive relative to other swings
*would have been nice if the first unit I purchased was functional ...more info - Great Swing
I think the best advantage of this swing is that it plugs in! We looked all over for a swing that plugs in. We also like the vibrating feature for the chair, it really relaxes our baby. The canopy is good to dim the lights so baby can sleep better. We really like how you can put your Graco car seat in the swing so when you get home you can put baby from car seat without taking him out so he will continue sleeping. The Ipod feature is nice to play our own music.
Great swing!...more info - Amazing
This product is absolutely amazing. I've never seen a better product for babies and I wish I had had this for my first baby. The technology used in this product is amazing. The swing is actually designed to mimic the rhythem (spelling?) of a person walking. The seat is set up like a cocoon around the newborn. The best part, in my opinion, is the sounds. You have several options. You can download your own songs to an ipod and plug it in, there are classical tunes preprogrammed into the machine, and there are a series of differant white noises to choose from such as rain, womb sounds, ocean, ect. My husband and I loved the white noises so much we'll probably end up using it even after the baby is done with it....more info - Must have for a good nights rest
The Newborn Soothing Center is a must-have for new parents. My husband and I were impressed with the demonstration we saw at the store but we couldn't get beyond the price. That is until our newborn just simply couldn't calm down. We ended up purchasing it from Amazon.com at 3 in the morning and have never looked back. Our daughter slept very well in it and when she seems to get bored, we can alter the direction of the "basket" and/or change the soothing sound. The heartbeat seems to be her personal favorite however, we have also been able to hook up our iPod to it as well.
With most things, where there is a pro, there is a con. We haven't used the swaddler as it appears to resemble a straight jacket. Our little one didn't care for it as we were better able to swaddle her in our own blanket. Graco could also do a better design for the straps. They seem a little cheap and uncomfortable for her. She just doesn't like them at all and I can't help but feel guilty using them. The fabric could be grossly improved.
Overall, we love our Soothing Center. It's well worth the money and the peace of mind you'll have knowing your child is comforted. The better rest you'll gain as a result is also a lovely benefit!

This has been set up awaiting the arrival of my 14th grandchild to be born in January, 2009. We haven't had the chance to use it yet, but my 4-year old granddaughter has had her "babies" in it and we all think it is totally awesome. My daughter is thrilled to have this awaiting the arrival of her third child....more info - Very weak swing motor.
When I got this product I was impressed at first but then after everything was set up I went to run the swing and then i relized the motor to the unit was not working at all, it just made a humming noise and then refused to move.
Called customer service and after answering about 45 minutes of questions they are sending me another motor unit (four to six weeks for delivery)and we know what that means when a baby dosent have a swing. headache sleepness and exhaustion for parents
Customer service was excellent. Quality of unit is poor. Thats why I give it three stars. Would be very hesistent to purchase another graco product with electrical parts...more info - Received Returned Item, Loud Creeking, Unable to Return!!!
I purchased this swing after much research. However, I didn't assemble it until closer to the time when baby was due (I didn't want a ton of baby gear piled around but wanted to space out my purchases). When I started to unpack and assemble the swing, it was clear that someone else had returned it. It was missing some toys and non-essential parts and had not been completely disassembled prior to repacking.
I wondered why it has been returned until I had it all put together and discovered that it has a horrible creaking problem. The more weight you add the the swing, the more it creeks. You can actually hear it all the way upstairs. This won't work. I will go insane and no baby would be able to tolerate it.
I was going to return it, but it's a week or so past the return deadline so I would have to pay up to 50% restocking fee and all shipping fees.
Great. I should have assembled it earlier (but I've been sick for five weeks). Now I'm stuck with a horrible product and can't return it.
...more info - IF YOUR SWING CROAKS GET A NEW MOTOR!
I read many reviews on every site I could find before ordering this swing and overall I am happy with it. My son is 7 weeks old and we have been using it since the day we brought him home. First of all it is very easy to assemble even when you are 9 months pregnant. Colors are neutral and go well with almost everything. The soft plush cover sits directly on the hard plastic seat so I felt it was lacking padding. I am paranoid about my child having a flat head so I added some foam from a craft store. I love that it plugs into an outlet so no need for batteries. I did notice that when I first tried my swing before my son was born that it stalled when set on 2 and the motor croaked and seemed loud for what I expected. I had read about this online and called Graco. The woman I spoke to was very nice and ordered a new motor for me free of charge. She informed me that the next shipment they had would be in 6 weeks. It took about 2 months to get the new motor and it is whisper quiet compared to the original motor. We used the swing with the original croaking motor until the new one arrived and it worked fine on any setting higher than 2. My son loves the swing and it takes up less space than the old swing we had. I also like that we can put our carseat on the swing base and when not using our carseat it fits under the swing perfectly. I gave it 4 stars for lack of padding and the fact that we had to get a new motor....more info - Baby still sleeps in it!
Its all great! The car seat clicks right in. The noises are great and I love using it as a speaker for my ipod. He sleeps so well in it and he also enjoys playing with the mirror and rattle bar toy. The only thing I have problems with is at speed 6 it bumps a little on each end and kinda jars him. Its not a lot bu it does do a small little bump on each end but only at the highest speed. He doesnt mind now I think hes gotten used to the bump. Hes almost 8 months now and we had to sell his fisher price swing when he was 6 months cause he was just too big for it. He still has room to grow in this one!...more info - Very Nice Item
My granddaughter had colic and was very hard to get to sleep, she would get very fussy before she could fall asleep. With this swing, they put her in it when she is sleepy, and off she goes!...more info - Necessity in my house!!
The soothing center has been a life saver for us. Our baby will not sleep at night unless we hold him, which means we don't get to sleep. My ped suggested propping the bassinet at an angle. This didn't help. I pulled out the soothing center during the day and he slept great (day time sleep isn't a problem though). I finally thought to put the seat into the bassinet. He LOVES it. He is out like a light as soon as his head touches the bear-ears pillow. He likes the swinging base during the day, but just the cozy seat alone at night has been a miracle. I don't know what we would do without it. Worth a lot more money for the help in our house!!...more info - Amazing Product!!!
I just got my soothing center my baby loves it. We put her in it and within about 5 min. she was asleep! The MP3 connection is awesome as well becuase she really relaxes with her own custom mix of music we mixed for her. The speaker is a really high quality speaker that really suprised me. Also it had really easy and fast assembly. (It really was about as fast as the video makes it out to be!) Definatly a perfect gift for a new mom!...more info - A God Send
I bought this for my God daughter's newborn and she just loves it.
very quiet...more info - Amazed
I sweated bullets over this decision for no reason at all. This swing exceeded my expectations in every way. I recently had my fourth baby girl and was definitely in need of a soothing center. Having purchased and owned A LOT of baby gear, this is by far my favorite purchase. All of the features are high-quality (especially the music and speaker system) and the assembly is simple. I had read several reviews of the motor being loud, but I have to strain to hear it. Graco thought of everything with this soothing center and it is absolutely worth the investment....more info - Save your money!
This product has a lot of bells and whistles, but at the end of the day you will probably never use them. I too found that the motor was beyond loud and the motor stalls on level 1-3. It serves its function as a swing but that doesn't justify its high price. My son was so big that he grew out of it in only 3 1/2 months so I wish I would have just bought a basic model for a more reasonable price. So, the bottom line for me...big waste of money....more info
