Customer Reviews: - Doesn't work on a Mac either! Do NOT Buy anything from Innovage...
I just bought 8 of these for Christmas presents. I paid $9.99 each at Walgreens, so for 10 dollars this would have been a cool toy (If it works) I decided to open one and test it out before giving them. I'm lucky that I knew better than to try to insert the tiny CD into my Mac Powerbook. (This is crazy to make a tiny CD and say that this will work with a MAC, Apple CD/DVD slots in laptops to do not pull out so you cannot eject the disc. There is no way this CD is usable. I searched online for the Innovage website. Couldn't find it but I found a link to Amazon and read the reviews. Someone was kind enough to add a link to this site that had a software download. I downloaded the file from the website, my first thought was oh great it's an PC exe file. That's what it said, but I downloaded it anyway. It was a Mac version, but doesn't work on my intel MacBook Pro. I keep getting this message: "The application Photo Viewer quit unexpectedly".
I plugged the keychain in and it is charging. I see two pictures flashing in a slideshow. I played with the settings and easily set the time and date. Not that it matters because I don't think that I'll ever be able to get this lousy software to work. So it might just be a 10.00 keychain watch with a picture of someone else's baby on it.
I'm going to spend another 10 minutes and then I am heading back to Walgreens for a refund. So far what a waste of time and money on a piece of junk. It's an hour later and can't find an Innovage website. It simply doesn't exist. What does this say about a company who has to know that this product is junk and isn't interested in supporting it. They should just make this a flash drive with a viewer so at least we wouldn't have to try to use the Photo Viewer software that doesn't work. Would be nice if we could just copy photos onto it. Oh well back to Walgreens I go.
My Advice: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Do a search online and see how many people are looking for information in order to use their products.
I had to rate this a 1 star. Only because they didn't have a MINUS -5 star option....more info - Waste of time and $
I bought one to send to my brother who is serving in Iraq so he could have a portable photo album of his grandkids. The first one I bought would not load the software. In fact it seems like my computer began having speed and crashing problems after I tried the process. I returned the device and used my laptop to run the software on the second one. Although I charged the device for 7 hours as directed, (it already had the green light when it was first hooked up)and had no problem loading pictures this time, it will not work when disconnected from the computer. The power button does not turn anything off when it is connected, and will not turn anything on when not connected. Since the button works for changing screens when hooked up, I don't think it is the button, I think it has no battery! It shows pictures when hooked up but unfortunately is going to the garbage because it will not serve the purpose. As someone else said, I can't have a computer dangling from the keychain!...more info - KMan KMan help with config variable fix details???
 I bought several of these.
Installs fine. Photoviewer gets the error.
"Can'find any photoviewer or another program owns it. The program will exit!"
Went to the web site and the downloadable software is older and by another software vendor. It also does not work.
Did a lot of uninstall, reboot routines, but with no success.
I am running an up-to-date version of XP.
I called Coby and they told me to return the keychain.
I tried to get a second keychain to work- but no luck.
I do not think that Windows XP is even recognizing the device. If it did it would appear in the My Computer window.
The cable is obviously fine, because the USB connection charges the keychain and displays the 2 factory loaded pictures fine.
Any help would be appreciated!!!...more info - Absolute JUNK
Received for Xmas. Gave it the full charge recommended and had no problem getting it to work. I loaded some photo's and found that the photos are so dark, they are close to impossible to recognize.
The keychain portion of the device was good and I kept it. The rest went into the garbage basket....more info - Customer Support Website!
This isn't a bad little product. If you're having trouble with your software (I think quite a few shipped with blank CDs instead of the proper software) you can download it at www.twcustomersupport.com....more info - Mac software download broken - use 1.8 inch download instead...:)
My sister-in-law was given this digital keychain as a gift. Having no computer, she hands it to me to fill with pictures for her. I have a MacBook Pro, and the included mini-CD doesn't fit (many have found this out). Also, the URL for the keychain software download only includes the uninstaller for Mac. However, if you go to http://www.mscustomercare.com, and click on the 1.8 Inch Digital Photo Album, download the Stuffit file for the Mac. It works for the keychain on Mac OS 10.4, if you have the free Stuffit Expander to open the stupid file. It expands to a PDF manual and two packages, an installer and an uninstaller. Double-click on the installer, and it installs a program called "Photo Viewer" in your application folder.
After all this (on Thanksgiving day), I was able to download pictures to the device using the program. You can control what gets cropped square, and rotate images. It worked pretty well (good?), but it is an obvious PC port with the file browser in outline form. Three stars is generous; I overlooked the bad .sitx build and the hassles of a mini-CD disc that won't work in any slot-loading Mac (and that is a lot of models!)...more info - Not worth it...
I was able to load the software and upload photos without any problems. The loading program won't let you change photo locations. Move photo 10 to spot 8...NO WAY, erase everything and reload! The main issue is that, after spending time to charge, if you leave them off too long without a refresh charge, the batteries die for no reason. I have fully charged these to come back a few days later and find they won't turn on! NOT an isolated incident! I have four, purchased all at once, and planned to use them as mini digital catalogs. I don't have the exact amount of time, but it seems that after a few days - even if you do not turn them on after a full charge - the batteries are dead! A plastic key fob that holds two photos would have been more useful than these were for me. Well OK, maybe not that bad, but at least the fob would be a lot more dependable! Comes in easily scratched black and constantly smudged by fingerprints silver plastic. Good Luck......more info - UPDATED REVIEW Warning - the install program has hidden adware !!
If your program won't load, this may be why. I have Spysweeper on my computer to protect against spyware and adware. When I started to install the utility for this digital keychain, it stalled and quit. I discovered that my Spysweeper had detected two adware programs in the installation filed - the names were "comet cursor" and "give4free". Having complete faith in my Spysweeper, I started the install again, told Spysweeper to allow the adware to be installed, and then used the Spysweeper to remove them. The problem here, besides the adware, is that you cannot choose to NOT install them - either you go ahead and then clean them off later, or you can't use their little utlity !! Definitely not a legit way to do business.
After I got the utility installed, I've had no problems using it. I like the way it lets you choose the part of the picture you want to see in the keychain window. The keychain has a nice, bright picture. Easy to see and use. Too bad they trashed up their product with that hidden adware.
UPDATE - after about 3 months the internal battery died and no amount of recharging would keep it charged. The battery would only last about 30 seconds. I threw this product in the trash.

I found this on sale and picked it up on a whim. My intent isn't so much to use it as a keychain but as a substitute for those little photo albums some people carry around -- just something to tuck into my purse and pull out upon occasion. For that it seems to be working great. The software installed with no issues on my WinXP PC laptop; as an earlier reviewer said it's just drivers wrapped in an install package. Not being able to re-order pictures was annoying but could be worked around by pre-sorting. Synchronization was a single click and then I had a little picture album to carry around.
For what it is, it's a nice little gadget, with an intuitive menu and relatively easy interface. But don't try to make it into something it isn't. It's not really well suited as a true keychain. It's not a substitute for displaying photos on your computer screen or for seeing things in crystal clarity. It's little more than just a flash drive with an LCD screen, and if you're looking for any more than that, move on...this isn't the product for you....more info - Great gift idea!
I bought the Innovage Digital Photo Keychain as a Christmas gift for my brother's girlfriend. One of her hobbies is photography, so I thought it would make a nice gift for her to carry and display some of her recent work. My intuition was right; she LOVED the gift!
This product makes a great gift for anyone that enjoys digital photography. It provides an excellent way to store, carry, and display your photos. It is easy to use and simple to transfer photos to it....more info - Innovage Digital keychain
I'm not sure if this device works better on PC's or Mac's, but I use the new MacBook Pro. It seems to work great for me so far.
Pros: Large screen. Easy to upload photos. Works up to 3 hours before recharging. I did read the reviews online and got a little concerned about the troubles people were having. However, reading the instructions, it says to install the program BEFORE plugging in the device. Otherwise there might be "permanent damage" to the keychain. Also, when I tried opening the program, it crashed several times. I tried reinstalling the program, but that didn't work either. Finally, re-reading the directions - when you plug your keychain into your computer the options "Charge" or "Update" come up. If you select "Update" and THEN open the program it works fine. So in the end it worked great for me. I don't know if these are the same problems other people are having, but it seems to work for me now. Also, the order of the photos have to be done at the time of adding them to the collections panel. Can be a little more time consuming, but I believe it's the only way to arrange them.
Cons: I cannot use the small CD with my laptop. I had to bring it into work where I used a tower and emailed myself at home the installation program. I had tried to find a downloadable version online to save myself time, but couldn't find anything. I wish Innovage had an official website where we could download the program. The only minor glitch, I have to hit power a few times before it comes on, but in the end works good for me....more info - Useless Garbage
I purchased two that I will throw away. Photos say they transferred but do not display on keychain. They do not work with Mac or PC. I have been unable to get through to customer service. My husband and I are both IT professionals and are unable to get them to work properly....more info - NO go with Vista
If you have Vista its seems to be a no go with this little thing. Vista kept trying to format it or didn't recognize it. Just put this with the thousand other things that doesn't work with Vista. Works GREAT with Windows 98, go figure......more info - huge waste of money
I purchased 4 of these as gifts. The first one I opened didn't work at all. I opened the second one and charged it - since it seemed to charge okay, I gave it as a gift. The day after Christmas I find that it won't turn on. Same thing with the third one, although I did load photos on it before sending it since it was going out of state, to a Great Grandmother. I doesn't turn on consistently. The fourth was to be loaded with photos and sent to my son overseas, however due to the quality of the others it will be returned, unopened. I also tried for several weeks to contact the service number included, but either the line was busy or a recording stated they were "experiencing an unusually high number of calls, please try again" and the call was ended. ...more info - Personalized Gift Idea
The Innovage Digital Photo Keychain was a big hit with all of my family members. I gave one to everyone in my family for Christmas. I personalized each one by importing pictures that were special to each one. The software was easy to install but I had to download an updated patch for it to work properly on my Windows Vista desktop. The pictures were easy to import with the user-friendly software. It took about 3 or 4 hours to fully charge the batteries for the unit, but I've had it now for almost a month and have not had to recharge it yet. As a gift idea, many of my family members said it was one of their best gifts because it was so personal. My 75 year old mother especially loves it because she gets to view pictures of her late husband and all of her children wherever she is. It's a great way to share photos with others since it's so compact, easy to use and a fun new technology. Well worth the price for a great little personal and heartfelt device. ...more info - Highly recommended
This is an excellent buy for the price. It was easy to install the program and load the pictures. The pictures are small but clear. If I can install this program and load the pictures anyone can.
