• Works well, but range is too short
  I've used this product for a few months now, against my neighbors dogs. The Super Bark Stop works well if the dogs are within 15 feet, but anything beyond that the bark sensor doesn't trigger.
  
  It took about two weeks for the device to take effect, but it has been noticeably quieter in my backyard, and my wife and I can finally sleep....more info
• Viatek - Super Bark Stop Ultrasonic Dog Training Device BC16G
  I tried this item because it had 4 D cells instead of an anemic 9V, and also because some of the ads stated it was 130db, instead of the usual 120db.
  
  It is a little too smart for my use. I guess it is programmed to recognize dog barks, but, my huskies howl at sirens. They don't bark. I finally caught it failing to trigger, with my husky howling at the top of his lungs 10ft directly in front of this device. He was answering a siren. The unit was set at max sensitivity and max volume and 1 bark which is the most sensitive setting.
  
  I have another issue with this device, also. The control switches are very small and covered by a clear plastic screw-in dome. If you want to keep it protected from rain, you have to use a screw driver to access the controls, even to turn it off and on. This is unacceptable, because I wish to allow howls during the day, but stop them at night. So I turn it on during night, and off during day.
  
  Perhaps this device works well for barking dogs. It seems well built, but it failed to trigger a single time at my howling husky, while at the same time, 20ft away, my other bark stop that looks like a bird house, was repeatedly triggering. The 'bird house' one didn't stop the howl, but it at least triggered, and from twice the distance.
  
  (For reference, the bird house one really only works well, on a brand new 9V battery. After a couple days, it starts to loose its transmitting power, and my husky starts to ignore it.)...more info
• Super Barker Breaker Works!
  I was skeptical at first, even after I finaly broke down and bought one. I wasn't convinced it would even work but I had to try something. I could not take my neighbors dogs barking any more. I had called the cops, spoke to them directly, all to no avail. Once I placed this unit up on a wall in the vicinity of my neighbors dogs I saw little to no difference... at first. Withing two days the dogs stopped almost completely. They still bark if a person with an animal walks by or something to that nature, but only once or twice. They used to carry on barking for a good half an hour to an hour. The barking has been reduced to the point I can handle. It keeps the dogs from just barking continously to only barking when they are supposed to, like if someone comes up into the driveway. Anywho, what I am trying to say is this unit (Super Bark Stop) is fantastic. I have had it up for a good two months and have not had to change the batteries once. I would suggest this to anyone who is interested in teaching there dog to stop barking or shutting up those noisy dogs your neighbor owns! ...more info
• Great Dane doesn't hear it
  I think it is working when it is in the house for our little yipper, Shih Tzu, but it seems that the GREAT DANE IS SO LOUD SHE DOESN'T hear it. It has helped some though, our neighbor should be happy. There is a cheap plastic backing that peeled off, luckily I found it as it labels all the little buttons in the control box. Without it we wouldn't know what any of the buttons were for- poor design that the label can peel off so easily....more info
• Trying not to hate it
  I've had it all of an hour & the screw for the battery compartment broke off(without trauma). Hope this is not an indicator of it's performance. I have not got to test the Anti- bark at nothing function yet. I will ammend this after that...

• Will not turn on
  I recieved the Viatek Super Bark Stop Ultrasonic Pet Trainer BC16G in about a week. After inserting 4 brand new D cell batteries the unit would not turn on. I tested the batteries in a flashlight and they work properly. After trying every button on the unit and still getting zero response or lights I left a message with Viatek. Hopefully this faulty unit is not typical as the only other review indicated the Super Bark Stop was amazing....more info
• Works Like a Charm! (Amended Review)
  Like many people, I have ignorant neighbors that allow their yappy mutt to bark on and on and on. Despite talking to the neighbor politely and such, they still have no concern for the noise pollution. I was losing sleep, and the barking was getting so bad that I even considered moving!
  
  In desperation, we looked online for something to stop barking dogs. We came across Viatek's Super Bark Stop and decided to risk the money.
  
  WOW, talk about being worth the money! My husband affixed the device on a piece of wood, and staked it about 5 feet high in our back yard. It's unsightly, yes, but we're the only ones to really see it. More importantly, it's RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE BARKING MUTT. The first time he tested it, he told me the dog about jumped out of its skin! We laughed gleefully. Could a good night's sleep actually be on the horizon...?
  
  It's been several days and Super Bark Stop has worked AMAZINGLY. The dog will no lie as far as it can away from the device...when it usually lay in the middle of the neighbor's yard. If it starts to yelp a little, it stops almost immediately. It's as if it's afraid to bark. YAY!
  
  You can select the volume, tone, and number of barks to help eliminate false activation (say, from talking or loud bird squawking). Audible and inaudible both work fine, but we now keep it on inaudible at the two bark setting.
  
  The device is waterproof plastic and you need 4 D batteries (not included) to operate it.
  
  I am SO thankful we found Super Bark Stop! My nerves were really getting jangled and I was dreading early mornings, when they put the mutt outside. It's amazing at how inconsiderate neighbors are; just because you may want a dog doesn't mean I want saddled with its noise while you neglect it!
  
  P.S. After using Bark Stop for 2 weeks (yes, it did work!), we noticed that the neighbors dog started to bark a bit more. (Not as bad as before, though.) We had it on silent, and realized that it had stopped working. Apparently, it's not 100% waterproof, despite the claims of the manufacturer. The person I bought it from said that "once it's opened, we find that it's not 100% waterproof". Well guess what? You gotta open it to put the batteries in it! Either buy a faux bird house to protect Bark Stop or house it where it won't get wet. Otherwise, you may find yourself in the same position we were in. We got a refund, and fortunately for us, our neighbors got rid of their dog...so we didn't bother getting a new one....more info

  This product is totally useless. It responds to people talking or walking by or any noise at all. It is loud, but has every animal and human cowering in corners, not just the offender. There's a lot of innocent victims....more info
• DOES NOT WORK!
  The high pitch frequency didn't work on any size dog. The Audible alarm got their attention but didn't stop them from barking. I now leave it on to hopefully annoy the neighbors into doing something about their dog. When I was shopping for this product in desperation I ignored all of the negative reviews and clung to the hope that I would be the lucky one. $60 dollars is too much to blow on this. It doesn't work and I beg anyone reading this not to waste their money....more info
• Didn't work for me, but your mileage may vary
  I bought this device in the hope of eliminating or significantly reducing the noise emanating from my neighbor's mutt. The offending dog is often left on the neighbor's porch, where it harasses just about every living thing that passes by.
  
  Before ordering, I had read varying accounts of its range in terms of how close the unit must be to the dog in order to attain the desired effect. In my case, the neighbor's porch is about 35 to 60 feet aware from mine. Unfortunately, this was not "too close for comfort" as far as the dog was concerned.
  
  Having read a number of very mixed reviews of this and similar devices, I was not overly optimistic about the prospect of it actually working. Alas, it did not. Some dogs just don't hear them. In my case, it was probably due at least in part to the distance.
  
  My suggestion is to go ahead and pick up one of these devices if and only if you are within 20' of the target. If it doesn't work, go ahead and return it to the manufacturer for a refund (which is exactly what I did). By the way, you don't need an RA (AKA RMA) number to return the device. Just send it to the company along with your receipt, and a note saying that you would like a refund (not an exchange).

  I had the Lentek ten years ago and it helped quiet a full kennel of neighbor dogs...but didn't help to quiet the noisy owners!! This time, I tried this model for our yappy poodle-mix puppy. It was less sensitive than the Lentek, didn't last but six months, and we were careful to bring it in during rain. I'm switching back!...more info
• READ THIS REVIEW - It's The One That Counts !
  I purchased three ultrasonic devices, used all three at once and there was no effect! None! The answer is that ultrasonic does not work. I recommend that you purchase SUPER BARK STOP or any of this type, because this type has both ultrasonic and audible settings. Set it to AUDIBLE, full volume and full sensitivity. You will find that it is easier to train the inconsiderate neighbors than the dog. This will not annoy your inconsiderate neighbors as much as their dog annoys you, but at least you will be able to share the joy!...more info
• not worth the money
  Not only did this product have no effect on the manic barking of our own dogs, but the company also refused to provide a refund/replacement after the product arrived with a broken chunk out of the cheap plastic casing. After sitting out in a rainstorm, the Super Bark Stop shorted out and is now totally worthless. Find another product - You'll thank me later....more info
