Customer Reviews: - Great sound, long lasting.
Don't know about you - but I got sick of all my wired headphones. I literally had a whole 'graveyard' drawer dedicated to all my previous pairs, which, at one point or another (independent of being high-end or not), broke, one speaker always malfunctioning. I don't know if I was bereft or some special care everyone else must take of their precious headphones, but to me the wires designed for them were much too fragile and faulty - those, mind you, of any given brand.
So! Despite being skeptical, I bought my first pair of wireless ones, that I still use to this day. The tedium of the wire is no longer mine, as these have yet to of exhibited any fault of their own! The sound is clear and vivid (granted, getting too far away from the source or moving your head within some area of interference begets static). I absolutely love them and as all other pairs lasted no longer than a month or two, these have served me well for almost 2 years....more info - Very impressed so far
Just received my new RS 140. Very impressed with the sound quality. It is connected directly to the audio output on the TV. Even in a completely different room there is no drop in sound quality. I couldn't believe it. The only thing might be that the headset is a bit big and awkward but the controls are easily managed while wearing them. I hear no hissing or strange sounds coming from any other electronics in my house and I have numerous things that could interfere.
I'm very pleased and would highly recommend these headsets to anyone who wants to watch TV and not disturb others in the same room....more info - Great TV Headphones
So much better than other TV headphones in this class. It is a well built product...not all plastic....more info - Good Sound, Comfortable, 150 meters is stretching it...
This is a very good product, but the farther away you get the more static you hear, and at less than 100 meters they were frequently cutting out and had a lot of static. Still, I can mow the lawn and listen to music; can't beat that with a stick!...more info - Great Sound, Great Design and comfortable
Easy to set up, great sound, comfortable on my ears. I love them so far. ...more info - Great sound and comfortable, but disappointing wireless
Excellent frequency response for music. But I'm saddened that this is apparently the state of the art for wireless reception.
It's not just that there's static when I turn my head or go in the next room. It's the whole ugly analog thing where if there's no sound it can't find the signal. I use these with my computer, and I have a ritual of putting on the headphones, turning them on, and making my computer make noises (by pressing volume up, volume down) for 5-10 seconds while the headphones try to pick up the signal. If the music stops, the headphones complain with beeps until I turn them off, after which I need to entrain them again.
Tip for less static: At first I thought these headphones were totally useless, there was too much static for anything except loud dance music. But turn the volume all the way up on the sound source, and then adjust it from there on the headphones themselves. Gotta love analog....more info - No more headaches fo me.
The Sennheiser RS140 Wireless Balance Headphones are a must for someone that has a hearing problem. Now we can watch movies together. If he wants to watch football or races, he can have the volume on the tv off and clearly hear with the headphones, while I listen to music. This poduct is well worth the money....more info - The best wireless I have used.
I have bought a few high end wireless systems (costing 100-300 dollars each) of infrared and radiofrequency variety. this is my favorite so far. Yes, it does not compare to wired systems in that there is some occasional static. However, this is minimal when you are in the same room and moderate once you get on the other side of a wall. At about 50 feet I no longer like it.
If you are an audiophile this is of course not audiophile material, nor will any wireless headphone be acceptable. But I use it primarily for TV while working (cooking, woodworking, etc.) and it is quite useful for that. IT is likely acceptable for mp3s. If you are sitting in a recliner listening to cd's better get wired.
The fit, design, charging is completely acceptable....more info - Big Improvement
I've had these about 3 weeks now, bought them to replace an older model Sennheiser. One earpiece had broken and couldn't be repaired. I had always had a lot of trouble with hissing with the old set, and the sound was not great. With the new 140 that problem is gone. They even sound good in the next room. I have learned, though, that construction matters, which might help explain the varied experiences given by others here. Some reviewers have said the controls are too close together, but I don't agree. After the first use, I was used to the layout. Overall, I'm very happy with the 140. My only complaint is that the base/recharger is rather large (tall), so it doesn't fit well on my TV stand. Sound is quite good, I think, unless you are an audiophile. I have some hearing loss, and the compression mode works well for me. And the Amazon price was better than most. A good wireless headphone for TV/movie watching....more info - Excellent Product!!
This is a great product, and far cheaper than a divorce if your husband is a deaf as mine. We also own the 130 model, this one is worth the extra money if hearing loss is the reason you are buying these. The sound is very clear. There is no comparison to the lesser Sony and other types we have tried. I would liken the difference to a $5 transistor radio vs a Bose system....more info - Good range, but some static
I've been using these headphones for about a month. The controls on the ear cups are convenient, but my ears tend to sweat after about 40 minutes. Sound quality is really good, except for some static noise when the headset is at certain angles to the transmitter. It works through walls/around corners, and has a decent range (at least 20 feet)....more info - Excellent wireless operation
I purchased the RS 140 primarily for wireless operation and improved hearing..... The headphones are excellent quality and function very well. I use the voice enhance mode (compression) which still retains good background music quality in movies....... A suggestion not mentioned in any description, I plugged the unit into audio output ports of my stereo receiver. I used the "Tape Record" audio, but any audio out in the "high output" category works fine..... In this manner, the headphone control is used independently of the stereo receiver volume control. My setup feeds all audio equipment either through the TV and/or stereo receiver..... I was surprised to note the room to room reception as excellent thoughout our 3 bedroom home.... Highly recommended.......more info - Sennheiser Wireless headphones
Great product, easy to set up and get going. Have not taken the headphones for a full "spin" yet, but using them so far to watch TV without keeping the family awake has been just great. The sound is amazing. I would recommend these to others 100%. AA...more info - Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Headphones
 I like this headset.
It has great sound, a good range, and blocks out loud background noises.
...more info - Great for listening to the TV AND Stereo
I bought these at the same time I bought "TV Ears" because I'm hard of hearing and my wife complains about the TV being too loud when I watch it.
The TV ears are okay for listening with my wife in the room; however, when the dog sits between me and the TV or I raise my knees I get static.
This problem doesn't exist with the Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Balanced Headphones because they use radio waves to transmit the sound.
The added benefit is that I can actually listen to the stereo from the living room while I'm in my office with perfect sound.
The clarity and quality of sound is outstanding.
The only disadvantage (if you want to call it that) is that it's harder to hear someone talking to you while you're wearing them because the cups fit snuggly around your ears....more info - Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Balanced Headphones
These headphones work absolutly perfect. i defanetly recomen this product, reception is great, clarity and distance range all are really good....more info - Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Heaphones are AWESOME
I needed a way to watch movies at night without having the remote in my hand to quickly turn the volume down at the action parts.
Watching movies in the pre-Sennheiser days was like walking on eggs trying not to disturb the sleepers in the family.
NOW... with these I can fully enjoy any movie or program anytime at whatever volume I want.
The reception is great. I can even walk into another room and leave them on, listening to the program. With the "TV Ears" that these are replacing I would get blasted with static and chatter if I forgot to take them off and walk out of the room. Adjusting the volume while wearing the TV Ears was torture. No problem like that with the Sennheiser RS 140. Movies and music sound really great....more info - over rated, over priced
I've owned 4 sets of these Sennheiser wireless phones. Not only over priced, they are not compatible with most audio equipment in the sense that they have their own volume control which only works when the input volume is cranked to a disturbing level. These are represented as personal listening devices but when everyone within a 900 foot radius of the input device must tolerate the sound, I'd call these a complete FLOP. IF you seek wireless personal listening device, please locate a seller of TV Ears. They cost less and work flawlessly. Some ENT physicians actually sell them. ...more info - headphones
This is the best set of headphones I have used to date.

I will make this review simple, quick and fast.
The Good: They work great with some minor static. I have around a 2200 square foot house and they work good through most walls. At the far end of my house the static increases slightly but over all inside and outside they meet my approval.
The Bad: They are big and bulky but I find them comfortable. I use these with my iMac and they work great. The bad is I have to unplug my Sound Stick speakers. I tried using a splitter but it would not work.
Bottom Line: I would bye them again knowing what I know now, but I look forward to how wireless headphones will be improved in the future.
Hope this helps! Happy shopping! ...more info
