• Excellent sound quality
  This item is a replacement for an older infrared wireless audio transmitter / headphone system that recently died. I use it occasionally and exclusively for our bedroom so as not to disturb my sleeping wife.
  The older unit was good, but I had to increase the tv volume quite a bit to reduce static and get a clearer sound from the headphone.
  This new unit is very clear and no static.
  More importantly, I have noticed a higher level of fidelity, that is , the sounds are richer.

  The reason I did not like this item is because it doesn't work with a Flat Screen Plasma TV. To much interference and low sound quality. Also had to hold head a certain way in order to get any meaningful sound out of it. I went with an LR unit and it works beautifully. It arrived on time and quality of the item was fine but couldn't use it with my TV so I returned it. I hope this helps ...more info
• Very poor produce
  This product did not work as advertised. I contacted the company, as required in their return procedures, and was able to return it. Unfortunately, their return mail requirements cost me a lot and then they charged me a restocking fee. I recouped less than 25% of the purchase price. I will never order from this company again!...more info
• Great Product
  This was my second purchase of this product, one is in the front room and the other in the bedroom. It is compatible with the Nissan factory installed system in my vehicle so I can use the same headphones in house and auto. Works great and the headsets are comfortable. Would be nice to have a charging input on the headset so batteries would not need removal for recharge. But if you use alkalines, that's a non-factor and battery life is reasonable....more info

  I am pleased with this item, but it doesn't allow you to leave it plugged into your tv and just turn it on. You have to plug it in AND turn it on, then turn it off AND unplug it - each time. That seems a waste of my time, and could have been avoided. There is a short horizontal space for you to move without losing sound, but it works fine....more info

  This is a great product. My husband does not watch as much TV as I do. When I am in the family room on the sofa watching TV he is in the room behind me, usually on the computer. Now I just use the headphones and he does not have to use ear plugs.

• The TV Listener is a great product!
  This purchase was for my son-in-law for Christmas (at my daughter's request). He was so pleased with it that he raved to my husband, who then had to have one himself. It's so quiet at my house now that I forget he's even there sometimes! Very easy to connect (but keep in mind that you may have to use the speaker mike if you have an older TV) & the sound is quite good. The transmitter plugs into an electrical outlet, which means you don't have to cut it off every time you use it, unlike other battery-operated transmitters. The headphones have an on/off switch on the side, as well as a volume control. This was a great purchase!...more info

• Happy with this purchase
  It seems that for some reason this particular type of product, a remote headset for television, does not rank well overall across brands and models. I looked for quite a while and even the more expensive versions don't get very good reviews. So for the price I believe this is a very good purchase.
  
  We have two boys in a smaller house who always end up in the living room while we are watching tv making typical kid noise, loud. Since they don't have a play room it's hard to justify them being mouse quiet while we lounge around watching the tube. So we got these.
  
  On the plus side they are very light, comfortable and get a pretty good reception with minimal static. I've got a pretty fat head and they fit just fine on me, and my wife has a normal size noggin and they fit just fine on her as well. With that we are pretty happy.
  
  On the somewhat negative side there is some static, which really bugs me so maybe it's more my problem then most people. But there is a little static and I would prefer crystal clear. However it just doesn't seem there is a headset out there that provides that, especially at this price. And that really surprises me with our societies love of TV. You'd think by now they'd have this down.
  
  Anyway that's why 4 stars, a little bit of static. But at this time I can't say I would prefer anything else in competition with this, and for the price it looks to be the best buy right now for a TV headset....more info

  I bought it for a christmas present and tried it out to make sure it worked. It worked so well I bought a second one after christmas for me. It is amazing how clear it is and how it can bounce off the wall and avoid my big feet at the end of the bed....more info
• Poor quality item
  I tried this listener and was very disappointed. I used the microphone in front of the TV speaker as instructed. Two problems. I had to turn the TV up, or the volume was too low, even at maximum on the head set. But the needed volume on the TV was too loud and bothered my family in their bedrooms! Second, I could not get good reception unless I was exactly directly in front of the transmitter--not 6 inches this way--not six inches the other way! And if I turned down the TV volume to a level acceptable to my family, the backround noise was extremely annoying. I discovered that Nintendo makes a similar device that works much better than this one....more info
• Works as promised!
  The headsets have worked perfectly for us! We have satellite service so instead of plugging the receiver into the TV we actually plugged it directly into the satellite box and it works like a charm! Very clear sound and now when one of us wants to stay up later and watch TV in bed we're not distrubing the other. I was skeptical as the price was pretty low but this system works exactly as we wanted it to.

  I do like the unisar sounds tv listener. It's really nice when you watch a show away from your kids and you have privacy to listen to whatever you want. I think the sound quality is very good and it was easy to install to our television. The only think I don't like is that it goes thru batteries very quickly, especially if you forget to turn the headset off....more info

  I got this for my sister who is in rehab. The room mate is hard of hearing, has the volume up has much as she can. This doesn't allow my sister to enjoy her own sounds. The Unisar still picked up the room mates TV over my sisters....more info

• We liked the first one so much, we bought another one.
  These headphones were easy to set up and make TV listening a pleasure. On top of that you get the added benefits of surround sound without buying expensive surround sound equipment. I am hearing impaired and the headphones fit comfortably over my hearing aids with no feedback. Now I can hear everything without driving everyone else out of the room. My husband likes to wear the headphones for the surround sound effects. I tried more expensive wireless headphones before, and ended up sending them back because of static and problems with the wireless signal. No such problems with the TV listener. I am very happy with this purchase....more info

  This is a great product that I ordered for my 90 year old mother. She liked the first one we ordered so much that she wanted one for her bedroom too. It is so nice to turn the tv down and not be blasted out of the room because she is hearing impaired. • same product, 2 different prices = bad policy
  I bought the Unisar TV listener for $39.94. It had too much static, so I returned it. But Electronica Direct only refunded $30.96. First, they told me it had a different price on the day I returned it. Not true. Then, after a phone call, and presumably, a consultation with a supervisor, they agreed to refund the full price.
  They have this same product listed as Bebe TV listener for the $30.96 price. Same product, different name, different price. I urge Amazon to look into this. • Good Product
  This product works very well as long as there is a direct line of sight between the transmitter and the headphones. Works best if transmitter is at same height as your head. Overall I am pleased with the product and it has let my fiance work in peace while I am watching TV....more info
• MAKE sure to note ear pad design
  as described in other reviews, it's fairly simple to set up. my tv hangs on the wall w/ no shelf nearby tho, & the cords on the transmitter weren't long enuf for me to set it on top. i began receiving fairly good reception immediately. i only say 'fairly' cuz it was as good as i had gotten w/ my old headphones (wired panasonic). it still had the same issue (hissing), but i compensated for it by turning the headphone level lower & the tv volume higher. i don't know if it's just where my tv sits or what but i've just about accepted that i'll always hv that issue. anyway, the night wore on (i was watching 'L O S T') & i was thrilled to be able to get out of my recliner w/o having to remember to take the headphones off, dint hv to worry about the cord getting tangled in the recliner mechanism, could hv my dog in my lap, etc. after 2 or 3 hrs, my ears started to hurt & i had to take the phones off for a minute. i am returning them (for that reason) in exchange for the 'open-ear' design (i think that's the correct term), where there's padding around the earpiece that fits against your head & the middle allows space for your ear. also: i experienced some interference occasionally; don't know what it was. it sounded like the noise that comes thru my computer speakers when i'm near them & turn my cell phone on. otherwise, very compact lightweight design, easily accessible on/off & vol switch, & i liked the idea of the included microphone. i would hv kept them if they were the 'open ear' design. i also hv a fairly lg head (hat sz: 7 1/4); that may have had sumpin to do w/ the discomfort i felt after wearing them for a while....more info

  Headset did not work one ear at a time worked - must have been faulty. Also wanted to use while on treadmill. With just one ear working - treadmill caused too much static to hear anything. Returned product....more info
• No more blaring TV!!
  My 86 year old father is profoundly deaf and he lives alone and takes his hearing aids out when listening to the TV. He keeps the volume turned so loud that you can hear it outside. I bought the Unisar in hopes that he would be able to hear and understand what was being said. He just loves it. He now can hear every word and understand as it is very clear!!
