Product Description
A Course in Miracles begins... Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. As its title implies, the Course is arranged throughout as a teaching device. It consists of three books: Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depend on their particular needs and preferences. The curriculum the Course proposes is carefully conceived and is explained, step by step, at both the theoretical and practical levels. It emphasizes application rather than theory, and experience rather than theology. Although Christian in statement, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes. It emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum. There are many others, this one differing from them only in form. They all lead to God in the end. The Text is largely theoretical, and sets forth the concepts on which the Course's thought system is based. Its ideas contain the foundation for the Workbook's lessons. Without the practical application the Workbook provides, the Text would remain largely a series of abstractions which would hardly suffice to bring about the thought reversal at which the Course aims. The Workbook includes 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. It is not necessary, however, to do the lessons at that tempo, and one might want to remain with a particularly appealing lesson for more than one day. The practical nature of the Workbook is underscored by the introduction to its lessons, which emphasizes experience through application rather than a prior commitment to a spiritual goal: Some of the ideas the workbook presents you will find hard to believe, and others may seem to be quite startling. This does not matter. You are merely asked to apply the ideas as you are directed to do. You are not asked to judge them at all. You are asked only to use them. It is their use that will give them meaning to you, and will show you that they are true. Finally, the Manual for Teachers, which is written in question and answer form, provides answers to some of the more likely questions a student might ask. It also includes a clarification of a number of the terms the Course uses, explaining them within the theoretical framework of the Text. The Course makes no claim to finality, nor are the Workbook lessons intended to bring the student's learning to completion. At the end, the reader is left in the hands of his or her own Internal Teacher, Who will direct all subsequent learning as He sees fit.

Customer Reviews: - True Understanding
This is an outstanding book. To call it a book is more than an understatement. For those that are SEARCHING for TRUTH and UNDERSTANDING this book will point you in the direction of the fullest life possible.
If you want to be sure to receive your purchase, DO NOT ORDER FROM CHERRYBOOKS....more info - A universal course that sheds light on life, love and our true nature.
If you have ever wondered about life, love or why you are here, you should enjoy reading this book. Read it, and try to use read it in your daily life by absorbing its content. This book addresses the issues of eternity, love, life, death, the ego, the Holy Spirit, God, time, and our true nature (our higher Self) with the most consistent, clear and amazing thoughts that I have ever encountered.
Some of its teachings exhibit extremely sound reasoning which flies in the face of our basic cultural concepts. For example, there can either be eternity or time, but both cannot coexist. Time states that eternity can be broken into non eternal segments, and eternity states that only one instant is always now. They are opposites. Only one can be true and only one is true always. We must decide and we do make this decision through our everyday thought patterns as to which one is true.
Truth is another misunderstood concept in our culture. Truth must always be true or it is not the truth. Our concept of truth being relative means that we do not have an understanding of what the real truth is. Truth is known and not perceived. It is always true or it is never true. Perceived truth which is always relative and therefore not really true.
If you want to wrestle with these kinds of thoughts, then this book will probably give you more to think about than you ever thought was possible. If you are ready for this course, you will not be disappointed with this book no matter how many times you read it. And the best way to read it is to share the reading with someone you care about. By sharing, you will give and get more from the reading of the book.
This book has changed my life completely. I have less anger and less fear than I thought was possible. I have more love and more peace than I thought was possible. And it continues to grow in that direction through my daily readings with my wife and daughter.
I bless you and hope that you are ready for a marvelous experience through the reading and understanding of this book. May you experience the love, joy and peace of God through the reading of this book....more info - The most important book of my life.
I am well educated by modern western standards - I have a masters degree in electrical engineering, and a masters degree in business (MBA)...I am middle-aged so I have had plenty of time to witness life on earth...I was also in the US Navy at an early age...I hope this gives you a context for my review........I have to honestly say, without any reservation, from the bottom of my heart - that this is the single MOST IMPORTANT book - rather EDUCATION - of my entire life...Nothing else comes close....If you are seeking true happiness, inner peace, would like to really internalize "why you are here", this is the best work around....If you want to learn how to deal with your resentment, prejudices, and maybe most-importantly, ego - this book will do it for you. And if you don't think you have any of these issues - perhaps you need this book even more!...This book goes beyond formal religion (which I do not partake in), beyond meditation (which I've practiced for ~30 years), and beyond the Bible (which I've read but didn't really "internalize")....I am about half way through the lessons (this is the part you should focus on - the other parts are optional), and I look forward every morning to reading a new lesson - or internalizing the previous lesson...I like this book so much I am going to give out about 7 copies for the holiday's to family and friends......And for any of you with significant health challenges (like me) - what you learn from this book will help you.....Start with lesson one, practice each lesson, have patients, and before you know it - you will see the light....As far as some of the reviews on here that were not so kind, I will not pass judgment of these folks - but wish them well in there journey to "seeing the light"....more info - Change your mind, Change your life
This book gives you a method by which to change your life. It is spoken in a spiritual language (not religious) but can be understood outside of the spiritual realm. It states that God's teachers come from all religions and NO religion. The longer I study the book, the more I know it's true. There are study groups EVERYWHERE. Surf the net for them or look on meetup.com. I am a student of philosophy, psychology and prior to reading this book, agnostic. The author was a Columbia college professor and Jew. The lighter reading versions of this message include Conversations with God (Walshe) Power of Now (Tolle) and The Four Agreements (Ruiz)...more info - This is why George
A George Carlin quote that I have agreed with for years is: "If this is the best God can do, I"m not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the resume of a supreme being. This is the kind of stuff you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. In any well-managed universe, this guy would have been out on his all-powerful a__ a long time ago." The Course explains why this is so.... God did NOT create this mess. Finally, something has helped me to understand this world. But to believe is not the same as to experience. Having practiced several religions and examined many others, I feel finally with the understanding and guidance The Course gives that experience will come. ...more info - Wonderfully written

Wonderful tool to be able to apply and work on in the privacy of your own home as well as seeking out group's if interaction with others is wanted...more info - Its not real
In her early writtings the author Admits that she created the ideas and that they were not in fact the words of Jesus. The books cannot be Based on the words of Jesus as they Deny his sovreignty.
Jesus of Nazarath Claimed to be the son of God. And He claimed to be 'The Light, The truth, and the way.' He in fact claimed that only buy and thru him can you find the father. If either of these things is untrue, then he was simply a carpenters bastard son who scammed hundereds of people. And he would have been Crazy, you know to make the claim of divinity.
One must either accept him as painted in the bible, or reject him. I'm not saying for people to believe in the Jesus of the Bible, thats for you to decide, I'm saying reject this book as the Lie that it is....more info - This are not true Principles
I feel that this book does not acurately or truly represent our Savior. I feel that many people have been confused by this book. I think they feel like it gives them hope when it is really taking it away. We can be perfect in our Heavenly Father's eyes, if we but repent. This book would have you feel that there was no need for that, or the Gospel, thereby taking away your opportunity to learn of this good news and realize true happiness.
Oftentimes we feel overwhelmed trying to be good, and to do what is right. The answer is not find an excuse to not do these things, but to carry on and pray for strength. We are not a self serving people.
I hope that those who have found themselves with questions will take the matter to prayer with Heavenly Father and find the peace they are seeking....more info - False Prophets!!!
I am praying for whoever reads and believes in this book... In the bible the Christ speaks of false prophets coming in his name and to resist.
Matthew 24
1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25Behold, I have told you before.
26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Mark 13
4Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
7And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
30Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
and Luke 21
7And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
9But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
18But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
19In your patience possess ye your souls.
20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Revelations 13
1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
I pray you all take heed... So that we can all see the time of Christ coming with happiness instead of dread and live with Him and His Father together in peace.
...more info - Beware!!
Any book that indicates that there is a better way than what the Holy Bible does, is false teaching. Please be careful that you don't get misled by false teachings like you'll find in this book. Statements such as "There is no Sin", A slain Christ has no meaning and The name of Jesus Christ is but a symbol will only lead you to destruction and straight to hell. I know this is blunt, but please read the Bible, God's Holy Word, and take it for the complete truth that it is. Stay away from false teachers such as the author of this book....more info - If You Are reading this you are already on the way
I cannot praise this work highly enough.
I doubt that there is a more powerful book on this planet.
I have studied the Course for over 12 years, and have done the Workbook
multiple times and I am gaining more peace from each day now than when I started. And it has been a very difficult road.
Eventually after 11 years of study and serious ill health, money and relationship stress on an ever-worsening scale I realised that the Course didn't say anything about having a great earth life in terms of outward trappings. You may or you may not.
So for those of you who are studying the Course seriously and your life just seems to have gotten worse and worse recognise
that maybe that means you are doing the Course correctly rather
than stuffing up as the ego would have you believe.
It happened that way for me.
Eventually I came to the conclusion that maybe I found the course because my life was already stinking and was predestined to be even worse and maybe some of the miracles I have offered have negated
some of that.
So if you are practicing miracles and working on the Course and your life is still not hunky-dorey or like mine is getting "worse" as the world defines it, realise that a "great life" on earth does not translate to an experience of peace and eternal bliss, and the Course is aimed at helping to recognise that we are already the recipients of the latter. We have just blocked it out of our consciousness by our fear of God.
If you don't believe that you are afraid of God, then ask yourself have you ever blamed God for something, even in the briefest instant, because if you have you have projected that God has done something bad to you or someone else, and by implication you would have to be afraid of him. The fact that God has NOT done anything bad to us, and yet we feel that way, is because of our own fear of how we will be punished for turning away from God.
Take heart, the ego, who we created and who then
created this world according to the Course, is NOT on your side.
People seem to think that they can have the perfect life according to some external world standard and maybe the Course will give it to them.
When that doesn't work they feel that they are a failure or haven't done the Course right. In my experience that couldn't be further from the truth. If the world is ultimately meaningless
it shouldn't really matter whether you have a healthy good looking body, nice car, clothes and house, because it is ALL an ego illusion.
It is more important to go with the inner peace aspect offered
by the Course. And that is what increases as you study it more.
Then you can live poorly as the world describes but be immeasurably content.
So remember to ask yourself when you think you aren't getting "results"
whether you are looking for results as the world describes or looking
for peace. Because when you don't get what you want in this world
you are thinking with the ego because you will have identified yourself as a victim.
But, if you study this book long enough you will eventually learn to move out of that projection. You cannot understand how liberating that
feels until you have experienced it, but I would never go back and I would suffer as the world defines many times over in order to have what I have now. The Course showed me how....more info - ACIM Hard Cover

This is a very profound book. It is a big book and challenging for many who are not focused on finishing it. But, when you do, you will notice many changes in your life.
In fact, you don't even have to do the whole course, as it seems when you are having an off day, you can just pick up the book. When you open it, you will be lead to the exact page you need to read. I would recommend this book for someone who wants to break down old belief systems. One these are brought down, the book allows for your consciousness to align with love. Which can be very powerful.
A great book to have...more info - This Book is Ridiculous
This book is filled with a bunch of statements with no proof or evidence to support them.
Anyone who finds this book useful, is gullible, and can believe things anyone tells them.
This book makes claims which are supposed to be "knowledge" however have nothing to back them up, they are just empty sentences.
I can sit around and write "Miracles come from love. Love is the greatest thing in the universe, etc"
This is not a book with knowledge, it will not enlighten you (unless you can easily believe empty statements with no back up or evidence)
...more info - Beyond review
After being a Miracles student for about 15 years now, I know making any attempt to review it is plain ridiculous. It is beyond evaluation. It is my path home. It is my way out of suffering and all illusions. I live the Course as much as I am willing and at the end of the day, it works. By all means, read the introduction, What It Says, but the truth is in living it. If it is for you then no review will influence you at all.
You will know what is true.

The Course In Miracles is for those serious students who are striving for the next higher level of spiritual awareness. It is, in my humble opinion, the highest and best wisdom available on the planet today. While the material is not always the easiest to assimilate, because it moves beyond the generally accepted principles of life, the material contained therein will make your heart sing and spirit soar beyond anything you dreamed possible. The wisdom and truth in the Course In Miracles enriches and empowers your life, and will bring great joy in a sometimes dreary world. This trip is not only for your lifetime but for your eternity. This book is amazing. It is a masterpiece of mind training and cutting edge philosophy. It leads the reader towards a peaceful interpretation of life.
I found this work when I was having severe health issues and was in deep despair. It did not disappoint me. Working with the lessons I was able to find new attitudes towards my problems that gave me hope. Eventually this led to actual physical healing.
This book delves heavily into the function of the relationship in healing and as identity. This was way before people were talking about "quantum entanglement" and the "intersubjective" perspective. Each reading brings new insights. Applying it to your own life brings about a deep sense of connection.
The text can be thick at times. I have met many people who have been turned off by this factor. It's well worth the work to understand it. I began to sing the lessons to myself to make them easier to integrate and memorize. Since much of the lessons are in iambic pentameter, this works very well. They even work well as rap music!

This book is garbage, a total waste of time and money. There is nothing here of any real substance. It is just more of the current crop of " new age" baloney being touted by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey.I am an avid book lover and collector, but this one went in the trash can, which is where it belongs. ...more info - Contains Only the Text portion of the book
Where is the Workbook for Students?
Where is the Manual for Teachers?
It is only the Text portion of the book.
This amazing book has a hard time translating into this new technology. Or it is whats left of my ego that has a hard time with the way this book translated into this format :-)
The 669 page text turns into 12,530 tiny little pages on my iphone.
I purchased the ebook version to have a pocket reference, but I am lost without an index, page numbers, sub-chapter and paragraph numbering.
I also purchased this Ebook to have my daily workbook lessons in my pocket at all times, but it does not contain the workbook at all.
I am indeed grateful to have what I have. ...more info - Kindle Formatting Needs Improvement (ASIN: B0023B13KK) Not Complete Set
This review is a review of the Kindle formatting not of the content itself. This version has no table of contents and is not the combined set of books that make up A Course In Miracles. There are several Kindle versions of this book available on Amazon. The one I settled on was the published December 25, 2007 with the ASIN of B0018A01L4. It has a fully workable table of contents, is the combined set of books that make up the CIM including Clarification of Terms and Supplements and is the 3rd edition. That version is twice as long as this version.
If you are just looking for the first volume you might want to check out some of the other Kindle offerings that are about a 1/3 the price of this version (ASIN: B0023B13KK) - I have not compared them but they seem to be the same size as this one and I suspect they have no Table of Contents (which may be OK for you since it is only one volume and the price is lower).
I'm listing the ASINs because sometimes Amazon combines reviews of the same titles even though they have different ASINs or ISBNs - just want to make it clear which one is lacking in case they do that....more info - Incomprehensible drivel
This book is difficult to understand, page after page. After reading about a quarter of the book I gave up because I could not describe to myself what the author(s) had written up to that point. It was pure gibberish. I consider myself pretty well-read, but I felt like an idiot after reading 25% of ACIM.
If you like extracting and extrapolating great meaning from incomprehensible riddles and then changing your life based on that, you might want to give this book/course a try. But I think spirituality and self-help needs to be clear and easy to understand so everybody can generally agree on what is being taught. ACIM is a failure in this regard, as are many highly regarded spiritual books including the Bible and the Koran. Incomprehensibility and contradictions breed conflict.
I recommend Eckhart Tolle, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Stephen Batchelor, Thich Naht Hanh and Ken McLeod instead; they are consistent and clear in their messages....more info - Vedanta/Buddhism for dummies?
If we are all in an "illusion" what is your moral campus? I mean, and do not take an offense to it, I buy the concept of acim since it is simplified Buddhism and as such it is my faith. If I want to teach some one about Maya I could not give a better book to read is the course, or better yet listen to the tapes (what a powerful verse and language)
But learning about Maya(acim) will not help you to "awake", or will it? Is that enough, you think to "forgive" constantly but remain the same person as you were in 10 reincarnations before? Where is the progress, where is the path?
Spirituality is referred as a path we walk on.
In a way; what would stop me to be the same little person who lies, want to get ahead, thinks of himself and lives his petty, stupid little life without any remorse or any lessons learned throughout lifetimes? I can just forgive myself for being selfish. Will forgiveness teach me to be like Mother Theresa? I doubt it. It will become repetitious and boring after a while.
Have you met anyone who "awakened" via acim? I do no mean this question as contentious but a serious one. I know people who "awakened by practicing selfless, meditative and spiritual lives,
Artists or even priests, but I like to know if "forgiveness" is really enough or it is just a fa?ade.

The mind is a very pliable thing. It can go this way and then that in faster than light speed. The speed of thought. How fast is that? If you have ever wondered about why the world is so imperfect and God (the oft thought of Creator) so Perfect, you probably began to simply blame the fall or make excuses for God and say, "He must have a purpose I just can't understand!" or some such. You may come upon this book and find it utter rubbish. You may come upon it and give it a read and then move on to other "spiritual" quests. Or, you may read it a couple of times and give the Lessons another go, having missed most of the point of them (you'd say) the first one or even two times. Then again, you may never have to seek another thing nor return to its pages again once its plain truth dawns on your mind like a Comforter you've known all along....more info - Life Changing
For 20 years all attempts to read "A Course in Miracles" bore little fruit. The writing seemed obscure and the concepts vague. Being female I had difficulty thinking of all of us as the "Son of God." A year ago, to my dismay, the book suddenly made sense and became a life changer.
I now believe we have a choice between two parallel "worlds." One is physical and the other spiritual. We can look at the world through ego, the mind of man, or through spirit, the Mind of God. One is external the other internal. Since God truly is all love all knowing and all powerful the concepts of hell, Satan, sin and separation are illusions created by man. "Sin" is a mistake that can be corrected. Everything in the universe is God. Time and space do not exist. In eternity there is nowhere that is not God.
Pain, guilt and fear result when the mind of man views us as separate from God, from each other and all creation. When we identify with the Mind of God we know we were never born and we will never die. When the mind of man identifies with the body there is birth and death. The Mind of God leads to truth, life, love, joy and peace. The mind of man leads to illusion, fear, vengeance, pain and death. Viewing myself as the "Son of God" now feels right for there's no gender in the Mind of God.
Jesus' teaching "Judge not, lest ye be judged...and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again" took on new meaning. I now understood why forgiveness is the path to truth, love and peace. When we judge another we judge God and ourselves.
"A Course in Miracles" says right mindedness listens to the Mind of God, merely overlooks and forgives what never happened. Wrong-mindedness listens to the ego and makes illusions. Ego perceives sin, guilt, disease and death as real and justifies anger. Whenever we respond to the ego we experience guilt and fear of punishment. The ego's purpose is fear. The opposite of the mind of man is a miracle. Where we saw evil and darkness we now see light and holiness. The miracle forgives: the ego damns. There is no need for help to enter Heaven for we have never left. We see a kindly world and walk in gentleness.
The introduction to "A Course in Miracles" says it all: "This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way: Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God." ...more info
