  This is a great book to help you prepare for applying AND studying for the NCLEX-RN exam. I bought this book after graduation from nursing school, but you should get it at the beginning of your final semester to help with applying to your state board and signing up with Pearson Vue. It has great strategies and practice questions. I passed the exam on the first try with only 75 questions!...more info

  Has exactly what I was looking for in an easy to read book. The questions are somewhat limited compared with other reviews, but the explanations help you see whether you did right or wrong. Overall a good buy....more info

  It was an awesome book. It really helped break down questions and not only encouraged you but also assited you in how you should think of what is being asked of the question that is given.   you need at least 2 hours to answer 1 test and if you do not finish it your answers cannot be saved!this is not a study tool, it's only a test taking tool with a good broad spectrum of questions...more info

• Kaplan Products aregreat passing tools
  Kaplan products tell you how to approach each question on the NCLEX exam because exam is very different than the real world of nursing practice. Also exam is not about testing your knowledge and how well you know the facts,for example it will not ask you what CHF or DVT is instead it will ask you how you will utilize the knowledge about these problems,which includes critical thinking and establishing priority. I found Maslow's hierarchy very very helpful in prioritizing client needs. I highly recommend kaplan course,I know it is expensive but it worths passing the exam. ...more info

  I purchased this book instead of taking their review class because let's face it, the class is pricey. It was so very worth it. You can review facts all you want, but the thing that makes this book awesome is that it teaches you how to think through the questions and pick the "best" answer. I passed my boards and then lent the book to my friends and co-workers who were taking the boards because it was so helpful for me. ...more info

  Hello I used this book to study for the NCLEX-RN in May 2007 and passed the test the first time. I would highly recommend this as a study tool for the NCLEX-RN and would recommend reading all the chapters and working the questions in the book and the CD...more info
• Having some doubts
  I purchased this book to try to get a head start on taking the NCLEX this coming summer. I figured it was a good time to study since I am on break between semesters. I think the strategies appear sound and have been impressed with most of the sample questions (haven't gotten to the disc yet). However, I started going over the terminology section in the back and that is where I started to doubt the material. So far, I have found three spelling errors in the terminology words themselves, and three wrong definitions (different terms). A total of six errors so far. These are big, glaring errors because I looked them up in my big medical dictionary just to make sure. I even e-mailed Kaplan just now to let them know what I found. When I find many mistakes, I start to question the reliability of the text itself. I just thought it was worth mentioning. The jury is still out for me on whether this book will help me on the NCLEX. I'm going to study Saunders now which I just purchased. I have been impressed with my older (2005) edition but felt it was outdated and so I got the 2007 edition. ...more info

  i would recommend the "Saunders Comprehensive Review NCLEX-RN Examination" instead of this one. The Kaplan book teaches how to take the exam but the Saunders book does that in addition to a review of the main points. ...more info
• Kaplan NCLEX-RN 2008-2009 Book Review
  Excellent NCLEX-RN Review Book. Easy to read and well written. CD-Rom is compatible with Windows Vista and is easy to install and use. I bought this book after multiple RN's highly reccomended using it. So far, the Kaplan book has been my favorite book to use to study for boards. All around great book and currently great price! ...more info
• NOT the best
  In my opinion this book was NOT the best for the boards. I and several friends agree that SAUNDERS is more uptodate with the material on NCLEX. With that said, I passed using Saunders and the CD. i did use Kaplan and honestly did not find it as good as Saunders. The best part, the CD has a few thousand questions including the "new format" style questions. Good luck on boards everyone....more info
• This is the prep book to get
  If you only get one prep book, this is the one. It helps you make the most of what you already know, by teaching you test strategies. To pass the NCLEX, you have to figure out the best answer for each NCLEX question, and just memorizing facts isn't enough to pass the test. This book prepared me with useful practice questions and tips so that I answered more questions with more confidence, and I passed the NCLEX. Whatever else you do to prepare, use this book to practice answering NCLEX-type questions. ...more info
• As an RN Graduate, you'll need this in your arsenal!!!
  This book is an absolute neccesity for any nursing school graduate. It gives you really great strategies to pass the NCLEX and a CD-Rom test that analyzes your strengths and weaknessness so you can focus your studies. I'm so impressed I'm signing up for the Class Room instruction course which is several hundred dollars, but time an time again I hear it's definately worth it. I'm investing in my future so I can pass the NCLEX on the first try. This is an EXCELLENT BUY!!! Good Luck on your NCLEX :)...more info
