A growing area in the health care industry is related to patient needs and services. This might include having qualified and knowlegeable agents that can provide medically appropriate answers to patients. One area where this is growing is for the in-home care industry.
Another growing use of call centers is what is called Demand Management services. For HMOs where they have fixed costs and variable demand for their services, a call center can be used to reschedule patients during busy times and stimulate demand during slow times.
